Overbooked Medical Gatekeeper with Burnout
No availability for current patients. Finally get seen and need to book a follow-up a month out? You will either wait another 3-4 months for the first available appointment or book with a team member who will not treat you appropriately or at all because they don't know you or anything about your condition(s). Initially appeared compassionate and kind but became dismissive and patronizing, staff as well. Possible physician burnout. VMG could do a lot more to support their providers and patients. Unfortunately, cannot recommend.

Best PCP I've had
Dr Rivera has advocated, listened, validated, and addressed concerns for the last two years I've been privileged to be her patient. She is friendly and professional with genuine care for my health. If anything ever comes up and she has room in her schedule, Dr Rivera is down to help. She helps me talk through my various specialist appts and diagnoses. She trusts me when I say something is up and when appropriate, does her best to ease health anxieties without over testing. I feel lucky to be her patient. and not just that, but lucky the staff is so friendly and helpful. Thank you VMG Florence and Dr Rivera!!

Professional and friendly
Myself and my family have been patients of Dr. Rivera for 4 years now. Whenever we see her she is kind and professional about her line of work. I always feel our concerns are heard and addressed promptly. If we ever have an issue with a referral being delayed, she’ll expedite the process significantly without hesitation. The only issue I have is the wait time for appointments can be significant.

I've worked with Dr. Rivera for the last 1.5 years, first for hEDS diagnostics and now for OMT and as my PCP. She is a gem for EDS patients in western Mass as she herself has EDS and is thus able to treat patients with both professional and personal knowledge and understanding of the condition. In my experience, she has been great at listening to, validating, and addressing my concerns, helping me to get treatment for a few other EDS and co issues. Rivera, her assistant, and the reception staff at Valley Medical Group are incredibly friendly and great to work with.

Incompetent and doesn’t listen to patient’s experience of their symptoms. I am left with severe effects because of her unwillingness to treat my symptoms. She is rude and lacks the emotional intelligence to engage critically and compassionately. She is critical of specialists diagnosis which is unprofessional. She asserted she is trauma informed when she is not. My experience with her in a severe health crisis has left me confused and uncertain and somewhat devastated. I would never recommend her!
