WHEN I WAS SEEN BEFORE MY SURGERY, I ASKED IF I COULD HAVE AN ANTI-NAUSEA MEDICINE AND DR SMALL ASKED WHY. I TOLD HIM I HAD ALWAYS HAD ONE AFTER A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH MY FIRST SURGERY. HE REPLIED, NO, ASKING IF I THOUGHT I WAS SMARTER THAN HE WAS. I REPLIED NO, AND HE PROCEEDED TO TELL ME ALL THE WAYS I COULD DIE IN SURGERY. AFTER ABSOLUTELY REFUSING, I THOUGHT BETTER OF ARGUING WITH THE MAN WHO WOULD SIT BEHIND ME IN THE O.R. WITH MY LIFE IN HIS HANDS. ONE OF THE STAFF COMMENTED ON THAT BEING "QUITE" A DISTRACTION. CONSEQUENTLY, AFTER GOING HOME, I FELT NAUSEOUS AND DIZZY ALL DAY AND THROUGH THE NIGHT. WAKING AT 2 A.M., WITH MY TEETH CHATTERING, I MADE MY WAY TO THE BATHROOM TO TAKE MY TEMPERATURE. AFTER GAGGING FOR HALF AN HOUR, AND BEING LIGHT HEADED, I LOWERED MYSELF TO THE FLOOR AND FAINTED, ENDING UP IN THE E.R. HAD I HAD MY USUAL ANTI-NAUSEA MEDICINE, I'M SURE THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED. THE BEST I CAN SAY IS, HE IS A NASTY "LITTLE" MAN. I GUESS THAT'S HOW THEY DO IT IN NEW YORK.
