Beyond any surgeon I’ve ever known, and have experienced 4 major spine surgeries. Simply brilliant. Beside manner is gregarious & humorous, caring & extremely thorough. 10 stars. Office staff are top drawer.

Misread my images resulting in 3 surgeries over 4 months. Misdiagnosed. Left me crippled. He doesn't care.

Dr. Von Rueden always gives us his complete attention - and most importantly, his exacting care/touch surgically. He definitely takes the time to carefully explain the actual problems being experienced in the patient's spine - and his plan of attack for resolving it. He's a real character too - which makes visits a lot of fun. Solid thumbs up for him and his staff.

Dr. Von Ruedon is an excellent doctor. During this visit, he spent nearly an hour with me explaining a very complex surgery that I would be having. This was very appreciated.

I wish I would have known about Dr. Kurt Von Rueden way back when I had my injury, in 2015. Instead I used a doctor in Corpus Christi, Texas where I live, who was useless. On December 6, 2017. I traveled to Austin, Texas upon recommendation and Dr. Von Rueden, took a two year old injury and gave me back my quality of life. I would strongly recommend him! Plus, he uses a odd instrument called a paper and pen, he listens!!

Having played sports my whole life, I've had my share of medical challenges. Dr. Von Rueden has met my latest challenge and both of us have declared it a homerun for about 5 minutes on my post op folliw up and indeed agreed more like a grand slam! He's definantly one of the best Dr.'s I've had if not right there with the best in the world. No messing around, nonsense, sugar coating...with this guy. Thank you Doc and your professional team at Austin Spine Kelly Gruber

Dr. Von Rueben provided information and options that had never previously been presented to me in the years that I have sought treatment. His explanations were clear and easy to understand. I would send anyone that I care about to seek his care.

I had ongoing lower back pain for six years trying everything from physical therapy, accupuncture, and steroid injections.. I was forced to look at surgery for a quality of life. After researching several neurosurgeons, I was given Dr. VonRuedens name. My surgery was complicated due to Scoliosis and involvement with crushed nerves. Dr. Von Rueden operated on me and I am pain free today although still in rehab. I think Dr. Von Rueden is a gifted surgeon.

Loved him. Friendly once you get him out of his shell! Professional. I put my life in his hands five years ago and so glad I did! I had a double curvature and my back is gorgeous! I recommend him so often to people with back problems! You couldn't ask for a better back surgeon! When nurses and X-ray techs sing praises you know you have a winner!

Not only is this physician brilliant & one of the country's best orthopedic surgeons, he's one of the finest human beings I've ever had the honor to know. He has the BEST bedside manner too! Funny and jovial, kind & empathetic. Dr. Von Rueden has successfully completed two major spine reconstruction surgeries on me. I have recommended and will continue to do so.
