Disappointing Appointment
I was very disappointed in my recent appointment with Dr. Shilk. He seemed rushed and I feel very snippy when I asked about trying some different medications for my chronic pain. When I mentioned there were other medications that are used for chronic pain as I researched online he snapped, 'which ones?' Like I carry a list with me!! The only option he recommended was a spinal stimulator. I find this ridiculous that it isn't worth trying other medications before doing surgery to implant a stimulator!! I was looking forward to getting a 2nd opinion from a different pain doctor, but this was a complete waste of my time.

Great Doctor
I’m in my 60’s, active and pretty healthy. But one morning something happened to my back that put me in a wheelchair for about 3 months. I eventually was referred to Dr. Shilk By that time I was pretty miserable…I was unable to stand, walk or even lie in a bed throughout this entire time. I found Dr. Shilk and all the staff that surrounded him to be very personable, caring and professional. Dr. Shilk eventually performed an outpatient procedure on my back and, amazing to me, it completely took care of my back issue. I think very highly of Dr. Shilk and was impressed by the whole experience of the procedure and the professionalism of everyone. It made me feel I was in exceptional hands at a time I was desperately in need of some real help!

Wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy.
Wish there was ZERO stars bc that's what he deserves. This man (?) has to be the most arrogant and rude person I've encountered in a long time. He puts shame on the medical profession. He treated me like a child and told me that he wasn't the dr for me and walked out. He has absolute zero compassion for patients who are legitimately in pain and thinks everyone is there for an opioid hand out. I personally was NOT. He gives that pain management center a bad impression of how they treat individuals. He needs to go....

Dr Shilk sat down with me and listened to my concerns. He took his time to listen which is rare these days. He reviewed imaging and performed an exam. He provided me with his thoughts, and we discussed options. I was impressed. I would recommend this doctor to my family and friends

Dr. Shilk is an incompetent and useless doctor scamming patients to have unnecessary procedures so he can bill you for every last dime he can get.
