First rate
I had a distal bicep tear. The Dr. was very clear as what the injury was, what would happen in the repair, and timeline of what to expect in recovery. Maybe didn’t ask if I had any questions and was rather matter of fact, but with his clear, concise explanations I really didn’t have any. Surgery obviously went well.. and with good PT program, have full range of motion, just will be a bit before strength back to pre-injury, just need more weight work to get there.

Outstanding, Great Sense of Humor, Thorough
1st (round of ) visits was to repair an epic shoulder dislocation that tore three RC tendons - two entirely off the humeral head. Dr. provided me with his cell phone for emergencies which I used once for clarification. The injury, surgery, repair, and recovery were overwhelming, but Dr. Laith took his time, explained, and laughed with me he has a wonderful sense of humor. I joked with him that he is young enough to be my son and told him his parents should be very proud of him knowledge, experience, composure, compassion, empathy, and a sense of humor. 2nd (round of) visits 15 weeks after the original surgery to repair one of the original repairs that tore off the anchor during PT :( I used his cell phone again to inform him of PT incident et al. The second surgery was successful, and today at age 60, I have a full range of motion and strength.3rd visit was for a fractured hand -treated and healed with no issues. 4th visit for a fractured wrist and elbow-treated and healed w/o issue.

Had a visit with Dr. Al-Shihabi the other day to address a very sore wrist/thumb. They took x-rays and he explained in detail what was going on with my wrist/thumb. He was very knowledgeable, nice bedside manner. He gave me a shot in the wrist which helped almost immediately and hope it stays that way.

I have seen Dr, Al-Shihabi twice, once for a broken wrist and then for a broken elbow. He did surgery on my elbow and made sure I started therapy right after to get full use of my arm. He and his staff are the very best that I have ever dealt with when going through ambulatory surgery and therapy. Dr. Al-Shihabi is thorough, compassionate, knowledgeable and has a wonderful personality. Why I hope never to need him again I would recommend him to anyone.

I am totally underwhelmed by his "Expertise." He attempted to fix an arthritic thumb joint (right hand) and failed miserably. That was a year ago. I have a new procedure scheduled in a week by someone who I think will be able to fix my problem. A year wasted by my not being able to use my right hand.

I saw Dr Al-Shihabi for my right wrist pain which had progressively gotten worse these past six months. I had not seen Dr Al-Shihabi before...this was my first visit. He was very clear and direct with his questions while examining my wrist, determining a diagnosis and advising current and potential future treatments. I had several questions which he answered in a manner that was clearly understood as a patient level. I left with a cortisone injection and a set of clear instructions as to what to expect in terms of pain relief and follow up timing. And a brief explanation of potential next steps if this treatment was unsuccessful. Overall, a very positive experience.

I recently suffered a fractured clavicle and met with Dr. Al-Shihabi for a consultation on treatment. I found him to be thorough, insightful, and attentive to listening. After the meeting the determination was mutually made to proceed with surgery and place a plate and screws into the clavicle. The surgery went well and Dr Al-Shihabi was great as was the staff at Orthopedic Associates. I went in for follow up and the consultation was again thorough and time was taken to answer my follow up questions. Three weeks into the healing process and I am very pleased with all aspects of the experience and the surgery and would recommend Dr Al-Shihabi to those who are in need of a physician.

I had the very best experience with Dr. Al-Shihabi. He is matter of fact but friendly, confidence inspiring, and asks often if I have any questions. He worked with me to schedule bilateral carpal tunnel surgery in a relatively tight time frame that worked best for me. I give Dr. Al-Shihabi a solid recommendation.

Botched surgery. After surgery, what I thought was swelling was my thumb sliding down on top of another bone. he never told me that and instead gave me another cortisone shot. terrible communicator. I needed a second surgery to fix what he had done and make things right. I don't know if he is simply inexperienced or just a poor doctor, but I could not, in good conscience recommend him to anyone

Dr. Al-Shihabi is an AWESOME physician. The surgery was painless, fast and all staff took great care of me! When I had a concern 6 days after surgery he was able to see me within the hour of calling and was very welcoming and reassuring. I couldn't have asked for better care! Great well kept facility!

Revisit after > 1 year for elbow issue with continued pain as cortisone shot only lasted 2 months; Dr. Al-Shahabi did not perform a physical exam although office note states otherwise! Dr. never so much as touched my elbow to ask where my pain was. Therapy was recommended. Feel the return visit was waste of time and money. Saw another MD not affiliated with this group. Sent for MRI-have partial flexor tendon tear and severe tendonosis, therapy NOT recommended at this time-need rest to heal.
