Closed on appt date and no more afternoon appts
Appt verified per my phone but closed when i arrived. New message says no more afternoon appointments. Guess the single digit degrees today were too much for them. Will be going elsewhere.

Office Staff is HORRIBLE!!
Dr. Coates is a great doctor who takes your concerns seriously. Her demeanor and professionalism is awesome. However; the office staff is terrible! I've been calling and stopping by her CLOSED office since July and no one has taken the time to return my call. I live 40 minutes away and drove to the office three times and no one was there. They don't even have the courtesy to return your calls after leaving multiple messages. I'm really worried about the doctor, as this is not like her.

I made an appt over 3 months ago . She came highly rec'd by a friend. I am a patient person and realize it takes alot of time to get in for appointments now a days so I decided to wait. I had been nervous about a couple spots on my face and back so I was anxiously awaiting my appt. I got a message the NIGHT BEFORE saying my appt was cancelled and she was out on leave. NO APOLOGIES at all on this message. It was like oh well. I work in the health care field and we would NEVER do this to our patients. Horrible customer service.

Don't try to call
Dr Coates WAS my Dermatologist but when I tried calling and leaving messages because no one answers the phone and after 4 days I finally got a call back I decided it was time to go. Although Lisa was very nice she completely misunderstood why I was calling, had a Rx called in with a huge copay that I cancelled and when I tried to reach them to explain the mix up, the girl who answered the phone had no idea what I was talking about. Could not even be seen until October. The front office staff needs training and if she is booking 7 months out, why bother for a rash you need treated now because propt care said see your derm. in 3 days?

DO NOT USE
This doctor is absolutely awful. She doesn't listen to her patients at all. Switching to her set me back decades in my treatment. I am now trying to make up for lost time when switching to her was an attempt to advance my treatment. What a disappointment.

Unprofessional, lack of empathy, unorganized, doctor prioritizes her cosmetic patients who pay out of pocket same day but does not care about her patients.

She is very proactive and always willing to listen. She problem solves with the patient and cares about your insight. However, her office is very busy and wait times can be long. Overall, I trust her medical judgment and she always listens.

I like Dr Coates, friendly, but very difficult to get through on the phone. This ALWAYS happens, and the staff takes days to return calls, or they never return calls at all.

The appointment desk staff told us to arrive 30 minutes early, for our new patient appointment, that was reasonable. However we waited an additional 45 minutes to be seen.

It is pretty clear this doctor only cares about money, not her patients. Not friendly and the office is run terribly. Go to Hartsough or any other dermatologist before you go here!

When I first started seeing Dr. Coates, I was impressed by her. However, I dreaded going to her office for a variety of reasons. Calls were not answered or returned, appointments would be booked at the wrong time or double booked, wait times were awful. However, something has happened since they have moved into the new building. The office as a whole is running much smoother. Dr. Coates is as wonderful as always, but now her office and staff are too.

I would never recommend Dr. Coates. 2 of my 4 appointments, we waited over an hour in a empty waiting room. Talked to other doctors, a simple procedure the should've taken at most 2 appointments, she makes it take 4. Over bills insurance and unethically bills you. Never received a bill until 8 months later that was marked 7 days till sent to collections. Well after 6 days of nonstop calls to the office, they finally called me back. They wouldn't take payments and sent me to collections.

Very bad customer service. It is practically impossible to get then over the phone and schedule an emergency appointment. And their schedule are also not patient friendly. It always takes me two days before I can reach them, even if I call ALL DAY NON STOP and leave voicemail with urgent status. Smh

I would never recommend this doctor to anyone. It is the most unprofessional medical facility I have ever dealt with. Hard to get in touch with, never return phone calls as promised, request payment for procedures even though you have insurance and then there is a long delay in returning your payment to you once they have received money from the insurance company. Please choose another dermatologist!
