Dr. Lakshmi Avala, MD

We have had nothing but good experiences with doctor Avala. she seems to remember every detail of our daughters even with all the patients she sees. Shes kind and has always been on point.

We are new in this area and so my husband was searching for a new pediatrician for our son and we found avala pediatrics not too far from our home. First, I didn't even know that she was the doctor we were waiting for because she was not wearing a suit ( or whatever white coat with name plate) that a typical doctor would use , she just came in a casual denim and boots, thats the first redflag. She condescends when she asked us how many glasses of milk our son consumes when I said he was drinking from a bottle at night and she started being condescending and told me that a 4 year old shouldnt be drinking out of a bottle but ok, still fine. She then said that my son looks anemic and his hemoglobin is too low , might need transfusion ( without any diagnosis yet ya'll) and asks us to bring our son to an ER immediately regardless if he is energetic and doesnt look sick. My husband and I opted for a second opinion and will not comeback here ever. She is rude and insensitive.

Very rude and dismissive. She didn’t even bother to introduce herself and ignored my concerns. Told me my son didn’t have reflux but had issues because of how I was having him sleep and then sent me home with parent education on reflux. Acted like she was ready to leave after 60 seconds in the room. Also very dismissive of other concerns that other providers are taking seriously. Her front office staff and FNP are really great, but I can’t be at a practice that’s is run by someone so rude and dismissive of real issues.

If I could give this lady 0 stars I would. The 1st visit i had with her she didn't even introduce herself when she walked in the room (her lab coat and name tag was missing) stuck her bare finger in my 7 month old mouth when I asked a question about her teething. I received two denial letters for my baby formula because she filled out the paperwork incorrectly. She doesn't answer the phones professionally. She asked me If she filled out the paperwork correct for my baby perscription, YOU'RE THE DOCTOR! When she answers the phone she's far from professional. I don't see how she has good reviews because she is the worst doctor I've come across in my whole life. Her student Christine is so sweet and i hope she doesn't get trained incorrectly by this lady. Oh Dr. Avala update your medical rubber stamp the phone number and address is wrong! Also learn how to be more informative when you have a concerend parent. I will never bring my baby back to this lady.

Dr.Avala has been my kids doctor for a while. I saw Dr.Avala recently at her new clinic on Greenback, and I must say her office is great all around. Quick appointment, nice office staff. Dr. Avala is very caring and professional. Her Office actually followed up on referrals and medications :)

Very professional and caring doctor. My experience at her office is always been very positive. I have a small kid with developmental problems, and she has been my pillar of strength. Provided me right guidance, referrals and made sure my kid is getting the right care. Never have to wait to get an appointment and I get to see Dr.Avala every time, which is what I need.Highly recommend this pediatrician.

I would give her 0 star if i could. My 5 month old son had bronchitis, and she would tell me that he has asthma and Dr Khaira told me before that he will grow out of it by 2 yrs not to worry..and thats what happened.. she was also very rude to me. Will never go to her again.. she needs to stay home!! She does not belong in kids clinic

Very rude dr. Made my son cry by telling him if he talks loudly I’m gonna make u stand outside. He’s only 3 lady needs some help cause she’s not toddler friendly. Horrible dr in general.

The worst doctor I've ever seen .she has not passion for her job . Never let you ask questions ,she saw my 2 years old who had pneumonia and ear infection for 5 minutes ??My son was sick for almost a month and she always said it's normal,I've been taking him to the ER so they found it he had pneumonia.i don't recommend her to any parent.

Actually I seen this type of doctor in my life... very bad experience with her..this was my first and last time to visit her...be careful to find a good doctor for your little ones.

There should be a way that you can take starts away! This doctor is awful. The office staff is pretty nice, but "everything is normal" when you state a complaint to her. For over a year, I kept bringing up the same concerns, and she kept saying "it's normal" After the 3 visit to the ER I changed doctors, and now my child is scheduled for surgery in December, because it was not normal.

Came in for new patient visit with Dr Avala with my 5 month old. Was very upset that we waited for 30 minutes in the cold room, where my baby was only in a diaper, before Dr Avala came in. She was literally in the room with us for about 5 minutes before she left. She did not even try to connect with my child and I, being the parent. Came off as very unfriendly and distant! Do not recommend this doctor!

horrible doctor! forgot my baby's prescription! then made us wait 6 more hours until she was had time to fix the mishap. we sat in front of safeway pharmacy (with baby screaming the whole time). they never apologized. my baby, 3 mos old, she misdiagnosed, never calls back when paged, and will not give me a referral to see a specialist because she says there is nothing they can do that we cant do. in the mean time my baby has been to the ER 4x and the Urgent Care 2x in a 4 month period!
