Rude and disrespectful (to staff and patient)
My daughter and I had an extremely unpleasant 3 minute meeting with Dr. Lan Chang, who, after being rude to the nurse when entering the room, proceeded to hand my daughter a B&W tablet, asked her to do some stuff with it for 60secs, told me that her eyes were better than most, she then held her finger out in front of her, asked her to focus on it -criticized my daughter for not really trying to focus on her finger, asked her to focus again, then stopped and said our daughter's eyes were fine and concussions take time to heal. This was contrary to the assessment of the optometrist the day before who did a 30min assessment including a dilation, as well as another person outside of Kaiser. To which she simply stated, 'well, I'm the specialist.' So I asked her to spit out what she was essentially eluding to, which was that my daughter just wasn't trying hard enough, or was faking eye issues, which she essentially then stated, at which point I got upset with her, and asked her to leave.

It's not professional
I don't recommend that doctor, she didn't examine my daughter well, she was rude and without feelings, and she yelled at us and pointed at the door and chased us away.

I felt very uncomfortable on every appointment I had with Dr Lan Chang! Her comments were rude & unprofessional! When she requested that I have an MRI & I told her that I could do an upright MRI & not the one she was requesting because I was claustrophobic she said that was for babies! I found her very rude! I never want to go back to her again! Her assistant was more helpful to me than she was! She should be the doctor!

Impatient with poor judgement
I still have double vision for 2 years. I was referred to Dr. Chang cuz she is the only doctor who specializes in patients with double vision. I made an appt and had to wait for 6 months. I finally went to see her. She was impatient with me and my ASL interpreter. I explained to her that I went to three different doctors for three issues with my eyes: double vision, blurriness and over drooping eyelids. She said to me she does not handle my issues except for the double vision. She gave me prescription for new glasses. It didnt work. She failed. I had to make another appt with her to recheck my vision. She was too busy and impatient to see me but her assistant was very patient with me, examined my eyes and tried her best to improve my rx. Dr then comes in and tells me that I don't need double vision or droopy skin surgery even tho she is not an expert . I had to have surgery with different Dr for blurriness which went well! Chang is unprofessional & incompetent. Need new dr!

Our experience was so disappointing. My daughter is special needs and has been waiting for an appointment for 2 months for a cataract and possible rental detachment. We have used all resources to get her this appointment to only find out after waiting in the waiting room that she will not see Felicia because she won't wear a mask. Even knowing that Felicia is fully vaccinated and booster. Why would a doctor consider continuing to punish Felicia for not wanting to wear a mask when she cannot comprehend the meaning. We gave her a sedative to help ease her anxiety to only drive back to Santa Fe so Felicia can go straight to bed because she's sedated for no reason. So frustrated, disappointed and angered this doctor cannot understand our situation.

I had a simple exam and I will not see her again nor recommend to anyone if I'm asked. Some of her comments came across as flippant, rude and unprofessional. I'm not sure if her comments are intentional or not but, I know it made me feel very uncomfortable.

I came on a emergency bases, Dr. Chang was unprofessional and completely blew off my concerns and called me a liar about my symptoms. I went to a different practice who requested my exam from that day, and the reason I was there was never even looked at. I asked her numerous of times about the issues I while I was talking she said you can walk out right there and pointed to the door. I hope you read this, you deal with peoples vision, and it may not mean something to you, but it does to me.

I don't know about these previous reviewers talking so negative and stating she is abrasive with their child...my daughter has been going to see Dr. Chang for a couple of years and just recently had strabismus corrective surgery this past June 2018. Dr. Chang and staff were great with my 5 year old daughter. In our case, Dr. Chang is always very caring and very professional.

Dr. Chang is a horrible Doctor. One of the worst doctors my child has ever seen. Horribly rude, abrasive, and condescending. Came into the room, did not even look at me or introduce herself. Very demanding and abrasive with my child. Asked me a couple of questions, never looked at me, and began speaking to her assistant while I was answering her questions. Absolutely unbelievable behavior. Then this horribly inconsiderate rude doctor insinuated my daughter was making up her issues that ha
