I took my mom who just moved to Toms River to see Dr. Berger. He wanted her to have a stress test and suggested shock treatment. She refused both as she has extreme anxiety. The doctor may have been frustrated, but was very rude. He said he couldn’t help her if she didn’t help herself which is true, but he then dismissed her with “You can leave now. I have to finish my paperwork”. During the visit he told her she wasn’t listening to him. He spent more time typing and watching his computer screen. He was short and dismissive. Neither my mom nor I were rude to him. We were quiet and polite. This was our third visit. He has interacted with us in a similar way each time so I can’t attribute the attitude to his having a bad day.

I first saw Dr Berger in 2019 for an abnormal EKG.He is for the most part a serious, quiet man, with who takes pride in his work, and does it very well.I am confident, knowing he's my cardiologist, and would recommend him to anyone with a cardiac issue.
