Dr. Larissa Assam, MD

I had one of the most demeaning medical experiences of my life at AllCare Shady Grove with Dr. Larissa Assam in September 2024. I went in to request a letter of support for surgery. When Dr. Assam learned of my condition, she began soft pitching me her 'intervention' for my issue, despite my recounting the various steps I had taken over the years to correct my issue and noting my family history.Then, after reiterating multiple times my need for the letter of support, she began repeatedly complaining about how writing the letter was administrative work that would put her behind on seeing her patients (as though I were not a patient). Instead of writing the four-sentence letter I needed, Dr. Assam gave me a referral using a uniform form. I tried using this as my letter of support, but, as suspected, this does not constitute a letter of support.I drove 40 minute only to have my very clear needs ignored in favor of a doctor's desire to use me as a lab rat for their research interests.
