Dr. Larry Breeding, MD

My experience with Dr. Breeding was abysmal. During the appointment, he insisted nothing was wrong, and that I needed to quit the antidepressant I was taking, as that was the root cause. He ignored what I said about my medication, and INSISTED that was the issue or that I had a 'psychological problem'. (I hadn't been taking it for well over a month at that point and I made him aware of that). He never even had a definitive saying as to what was going on with me. He told me it could've been a thyroid issue and I just needed blood work, but never ordered the test. I was in and out in not even 10 minutes. He kept losing track of what he was saying halfway through a sentence and would just start mumbling. I would not recommend Dr. Breeding under any circumstances. I would advise anyone and everyone who has seen him to get a second opinion at UK.

My mother in law was spoken to rudely and with inappropriate language. Bedside manner is terrible. Needed open heart surgery and was not transported in a timely manner. Even told her he’d just discharge her and send her home.

Dr. Breeding dismissed my 25 yo s-i-l's complaints of chest pains over several visits. Tried to give him stress tests that he was too weak to finish, yet still made him think the pain and strange heart beating was in his head and told him his heart was fine. The doctor was told heart problems run in the family (grandmother died at 50 of congestive heart failure, as did another family member). Yet Breeding essentially gave up on him. My s-i-l finally went to another cardiologist who did more thorough testing and found that he does have what runs in his family - rare congenital cardiomyopathy, which will definitely shorten his life, especially if untreated, which would have been the case if he believed Breeding. My sil suggests you find another cardiologist, or at the very least get a 2nd opinion.

I felt like he didn't care about me. Drive-thru procedure. I did not feel like a human being...Just another case. His Cath team is excellent, very kind and personable.

Did not explain my ECHO clearly to me, and brushed off questions that I had concerning it. Save your time and find a better doctor elsewhere.

Dr. Breeding is very patient and is a good listener. He makes medical decisions based on his expertise and test results. When appropriate he offers his patients alternatives for treatment and will provide greater details when asked. He seems to have the well being of the patient s a major focus.
