He has yet to give me a physical examination in this time. He doesn’t really discuss anything. He sits there and smirk at you while you’re talking to him like you’re some kind of fool. He asked no questions explains nothing., and when he’s finished, he just gets up and goes stands out in the hall and you don’t know if you’re time is done or not he has to send me for any kind of scans to make sure the cancer is still remission. I come out of there feeling like I’m a joke to him and just wasting his time. I should’ve left a long time ago but I definitely am leaving now and finding a new doctor. he acts like everything’s a joke

Unprofessional and unkind
Dr Lawson was the most unprofessional doctor I’ve ever met. I’ve been treated over the last 15 years by a few different hematologists. When I explained how I’ve been helped by other doctors in the past he told me that’s not something he will do, and that my insurance wouldn’t ever approve that treatment. (I’ve been receiving this treatment for years, approved by my insurance). He was more interested in arguing with me than listening to anything about how I felt. I left his office in tears. He didn’t ask me any of the necessary questions to get my treatment approved, so when he sent the request, it was denied. Twice, the office told me they appealed the decision, but according to my insurance, an appeal was never sent in. I went to another doctor who asked me the appropriate questions and got my treatment approved without a problem. It’s concerning to me that Dr. Lawson is treating very sick patients with such a lack of empathy.

Dr Lawson was by far the most unprofessional medical doctor my wife and I have ever encountered. We left his office less than 5 mins after meeting him. Alaska deserves better than indignant rude care.

Dr.Larry is excellent. Saved my life when I was feeling bad on the street in Anchorage with a friend. Larry saw me and immediately took me into the hospital for plasmapheresis treatment. Very trustworthy.Ma

larry set up the SPHospital infusion center in 2009 without regard for the possibility of VE-Vesicant Extravasation-so as guinea pigs we got burned through the porta catheter. our lives were ruined. larry admitted that we would have won "something"...hospital transparency at SPH is: Deny; Defend; Deflect; Denigrate.

Dr Lawson accepted me as a patient with a very rare cancer after other drs had failed to provide any care. He is relaxed and funny and a very interesting man. I have felt well cared for the last 4 years- I know he will fight for what is best for me. His staff is excellent. I drive from Anchorage and it’s worth my time to do so.

Dr Lawson is not empathetic with me as his patient. He makes comments such as: "Why are you here?", "With your condition & the insurance benefit that have, well it's definitely not keeping the lights on around here," etc. Which makes it clear to me that he cares more about the economics of his profession, rather than the wellbeing + care of his terminal patients, like me. At times, I leave his office in tears. He acts rushed, & prefers to talk about his travels + rare, valuable collections. Sad.
