Dr Adey performed my scaphoid surgery, there was no pain after the procedure. I recovered in about 2-3 months completely. I have full range of motion with no issues. I found Dr Adey through suggestions from my physical therapist who talked with some of their occupational therapist friends. I’m glad I chose her to do the surgery, she actually did even say I didn’t 100% have to have the surgery whereas the other location did. Surgery was the faster route to recovery without a non-removable cast.

Dismissive, rude and demeaning. I have a hand injury from a fall. She looked at the exray, and looked at my hand from afar. She never even touched my hand, or asked me to move it at all. I tried to ask questions. She talked over me, was dismissive about my concerns and overall rude. I called another hand surgeon as soon as I left her office. I would never recommend her to anyone. I went to the other hand surgeon who was VERY thorough, touched and moved my hand and wrist in many directions trying to find the source of my pain. Very satisfied with him...

Excellent. I have been treated by her several times. She is pretty direct and I like that and have always seen positive results to her recommendations. We will be back if we ever need to be, hopefully not though. Fortunate to have come across her in Maine.

Dr. Adey failed to perform a thorough ( or even routine) assessment before making a diagnosis. She had no sense of personal space, she was disrespectful and demeaning. I got a second opinion and now I am being treated for what she refused to assess for.

I have a torn ligament in my left hand. To determine if Dr. Adey was the best choice for my procedure, I asked her staff two simple questions: 1. How many of this specific procedure has she performed? 2. What is her failure rate? her staff responded they would get that information for me. 10 days later, they have not. I can't trust that I would receive optimal care if her staff can't follow through, so I have chosen another surgeon.

I had been having pain in my right wrist and hand for some time, especially when doing any wrist twisting motion, such as turning the key in my car ignition. I made an appointment to see Dr. Adey. She asked a few questions, examined my arm, wrist, and hand and diagnosed De Quervain syndrome. She gave me a cortisone shot and wrist brace. She said that treatment resolves the pain in 75% of patients, within 3 days to 3 weeks. I was pain free in 10 days, very happy.
