I’m so surprised seeing reviews that Dr. Flannery wasn’t friendly - that was not my experience at all. I never leave reviews, but I strongly felt that I needed to share how positive my experience was today. Dr. Flannery just spent almost an hour and a half meeting with me and thoroughly discussing my symptoms and a game plan. I have seen many specialists for a variety of issues, and she is one of a handful who actually listened and truly cared what I had to say. Our appointment required answering a considerable amount of questions in our scheduled time, and she made sure to allow time at the end of our appointment for me to bring up anything additional I wanted to. I literally finished our call and texted my friend that I “ just had the best dr appt of my life”I am looking forward to continuing to be under Dr. Flannery’s care.

Dr. Flannery is thorough and listens to all my issues. I have been treated by her for about six months and I’m very happy with my care.

Awesome

I see Dr. Flannery at the UCSF Headache Center. She is an extremely knowledgeable specialist and gave me a bunch of new options that other providers refused to try for my headaches. She is not the most 'friendly or smiley' provider but she knows her stuff! I am grateful to have found her.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Does not care and is cruel!
This Doctor does not even pretend to care about how the patient feels, what they are experiencing, or what other medical professionals have to say. My spouse did a stay at the UCSF migraine clinic to try and help with chronic migraines. The treatment was ineffective but that is not the reason for this review, it is the way Dr. Lauren Flannery spoke to her and treated her in the after visit follow up appointment. It was the aweful and I have never seen my spouse so upset after speaking with someone who is supposed to help. She ingored everything my wife said, dismissed her pain and concerns just short of calling her a liar, she claimed other health issues my spouse was dealing with were nonexistant and actually snickered. She discredited and talked down about my spouse's entire team of neurologists in our home town and blamed my spouse for the failure of her clinics treatment. Ifyou have any say pick another doctor, you will be a happier human if you do so.

Horrible experience
Telehealth
I just had the worst doctor appointment of my life with Dr. Lauren Flannery. I did an in patient stay at UCSF in May. This was my follow up appointment. She scolded me for not getting all of these recommendations done, like it was my responsibility to do her job and contact my regular care team. She treated me like I'm stupid, she was condensing, talked over me, and implied my regular doctors have no idea what they're talking about. She didn't seem to believe me describing MY experience with my pain and how it effects my body, like there's only one right way to feel pain, or that it can in fact be all day every day. I'm also experiencing a secondary headache not related to my post traumatic headache, which she seems to think is not true. Avoid Dr. Lauren Flannery and the UCSF headache clinic. I feel so defeated.
