A bully
Penn only publishes stellar reviews, unlike those on other sites. The most unprofessional physician my family has ever encountered. Combative towards my critically ill relative. Half way through appointment, I had to intervene and ask her if she was ok given her rage. She ignored it and was entirely unphased. Clearly not the first time she has been questioned. When my relative burst into tears, she left the room. Someone with such a temper should not be around some of the most vulnerable. Do better Penn.

I had very high hopes after reading prior reviews that this would be the neurologist to diagnose my muscle weakness & help me.However, instead of listening to what helped my symptoms and pursuing a diagnosis, she made the recommendation, based only on previous tests, to withdrawl ALL treatment that helped my strength. All drugs that I said helped me were labeled as a placebo effect. After some further testing, no diagnosis or treatment was suggested. Her professional recommendations made continuing to live a difficult choice. Other doctors are now helping me. Doctors, even highly rated ones, are sometimes very Wrong. Keep this in mind.

She is absolutely great - very, very caring, listens to everything, keeps asking if you have any more questions or concerns. Was diagnosed by another neuroloigist who tested me and said I had muscular dystrophy. Dr Elman retested me and I didn't have that, only a minor muscular condition. Absolutely one of the best doctors I have ever been too.
