Unprepared and unkind
For seven years, I had been seeing a neurologist at the same practice who retired and left his patients to other providers in the practice. It's never easy to transition to a new provider. And likewise, I'm sure that it's not easy to take on new patients. But from the first appointment with Dr. Ibarra, it was obvious that she had not reviewed my chart at all before the visit. She went straight to my medication list and decided that she wasn't going to maintain my current treatment while while we continue to explore new advances. She didn't ask me any questions (except for 'what questions do you have for me'), and she made me feel hopeless. Her attitude and body language toward me was condescending. Compasion and listening skills are completely absent. Extremely disappointed.

Thumbs Up
I read some other comments posted here. Dr. Ibarra is very direct in her communication style but I found her to be extremely compassionate. She's not going to hold your hand but she does want to alleviate your migraine pain and she does care about you as a patient. I feel she has gone above and beyond trying to find solutions that work for me and reaches out to make sure I'm ok.

Rushed, Dismissive, Rude
Took zero history at a new patient appointment and didn’t even accept the printed copy of the history from a previous neurologist (it was the only way she’d get that info - there was no referral). I literally held it out to her, she glanced at it, and ignored it and me. She didn’t even bother to acknowledge or take it. Brusque, rude, dismissive, didn't listen, seem to care, or show any curiosity at all. She cut me off repeatedly when I spoke. I couldn’t even get a full sentence out. The entire time with her took about 7 min. Have never had an experience like it in decades with doctors and neurologists. Just unacceptable and astonishing. Zero confidence in her abilities, care, or basic human decency. It was almost like she wanted me to feel dumb for even being there.

She was amazing and quick to educated and answer questions. The appointment was efficient but thorough. I felt she understood my condition and provided an a very clear plan of treatment.

Rushed, not empathic
I would not visit this doctor again. The appointment was rushed and lasted less than 15 minutes. I asked the doctor if we could reduce the number of migraines i'm having. She said "Be grateful, some of my patients have many more migraines that you do." I replied that even two migraines a month stinks because it completely wipes out two days of my life. Her response "It could be worse, you could have cancer." She actually said that. The positive result from visit was access to two migriane medications at no cost.
