Highly Recommend Dr. Borges & his team for surgery
I was recommend to see Dr. Borges after I was diagnosed with a Meningioma, Intradural Spinal Tumor. It was slow growing and benign. It was significantly compressing my spinal cord, & was most likely there for years. My only option was to remove so my symptoms wouldn't get any worse and hopefully improve. I had significant mid-back paid and pain & numbness through ribs and around my stomach, numbness in both legs and toes. Dr. Borges was so informative, compassionate & patient with me. After surgery he came in to check on me - even on the weekend. My recovery has been exactly as he said it would be. He has been patient with my medical leave company and completing everything they asked for. If you need spinal surgery please consider Dr. Borges, you will not regret it.

Simply The Best. Dr. Borges is a wonderful and talented Doctor and surgeon. The good Doctor operated on my lower back due to a bulging disc that impeded my L4-5 nerve. Before surgery my quality of life was bleak. Post surgery, i am pain free and have a great outlook going forward. He saved my life! His office staff is also outstanding. The best in the business. Thank you Doctor.

Difficult to find a doctor never mind a surgeon who has expertise and wonderful bedside manner, but this is what you will find with Dr Borges. He has a wonderful smile which gives you peace of mind discussing issues which cause such anxiety. He is thoughtful, respectful and understanding - explains everything to you. He is such a "Find" making you feel comfortable and confident going into surgery. So supportive and caring during recovery. No one expected to have a surgeon with a sense of humor, but he does which quells your fears. He has done 2 surgeries for our family, and I wish he could do more but they live too far to travel to Boston. If you're in the Northeast, you can't do better than seeing Dr Borges. I can't say enough about him. With all serious surgeries you need a second opinion. Whether he is your 1st or 2nd opinion, select him as your neurosurgeon. His staff is wonderful as it Mass General & if rehab is needed after surgery, Spaulding is the best.

Dr. Borges is a phenomenal surgeon at MGH. He is very detail oriented and communicates to you (and family) the details of what to expect and what took place post-operative. He performed a 7 hour partial Laminectomy on my Lumbar in December 2018, I would highly recommend him if you are in need of a highly-skilled Neurosurgeon.

I had 5 cervical laminectomies in 2003. Dr Borges was extraordinary. I was fine quickly after the surgery and I'm fine today, 17 years later. In 2010 I thought the problem was resurfacing. I got an MRI in Tucson Arizona and was referred to a spinal surgeon there. That doctor told me I would need very complicated neck surgery including fusions. I gave the MRI and X-rays to Dr Borges and he said I didn't need any surgery at all. They had misread the x-ray. I was shocked of course, but sure enough the symptoms went away. I can't recommend this extraordinary surgeon highly enough. Incidentally, I was referred to Dr Borges by a world-famous surgeon in Boston who had seen Dr Borges himself for spinal surgery.

Dr Borges is an excellent surgeon. What also impressed me is that he makes an effort to talk with the patient and family members in an informative, personal level. He really cares that you understand what the patient needs. The folks who work with him respect him as well!
