Dr. Cohen did not get back to me about an urgent result. I had to call several times and wait several weeks.

My appt with Dr C today was very helpful; he spent an inordinate time listening to me and responding attentively to my presenting issues. He was informative and patient in his responses to my questions which put me at ease and relieved my concerns. He has a relaxed, confident and reassuring, relating style. I have recommended him to my wife and to my adult daughter, and others in my close circle.

Just short of malpractice
Great for a colonoscopy, terrible for treating actual issues. Highlights: he will go weeks without responding, tell you it's all in your head even when you send photographic proof, and outright lie to your face, though he was absolutely charmingly in the beginning. I'm finally with a new doctor now, and she was shocked to hear he was not performing common tests and his willingness to keep throwing antibiotics into my system with no confirmation of it even possibly treating my underlying issue, and antibiotics that do not even treat the gut! So many medicines to try, he had said, that he prescribed none before the incorrect antibios! Moreover, he refused to examine my gut health and only looked at my skin, saying I should see a dermatologist. Digestion issues are not dermatological! It turns out, it is actually GI nerve damage that I am finally being properly treated for.

Dr. Lawrence Cohen is the consummate professional.
Dr. Lawrence Cohen is without question the consummate professional and count myself as very lucky to have been treated by him. Many years ago I was dealing with a severe case of GERD. I would buy Prilosec in bulk at Costco to treat my Gerd symptoms. One day I answered an add for an experimental "Gatekeeper" treatment being offered by Boston Scientific. After having the procedure done by Dr Cohen I was able to cut myself free from taking those PPI pills forever. Needles to say it was a life changing experience and I'm forever grateful to Dr. Cohen and his team.

What a joke
Dr Cohen is rude and does not listen to his patients. He started our conversation by making fun of my name: not exactly professional behavior. Then when I told him about my symptoms, he said that I wasn't being "objective." Basically, he is not interested in solving problems or helping you, just getting rid of each patient so he can move on to the next one. Don't trust him.

Dr Cohen is a model of what a great physician should be - competent, caring and someone you feel comfortable sharing sensitive information with. He is always thoroughly prepared for visits, diagnoses issues carefully and provides full and easy to understand explanations. But he goes beyond that and takes the time to get to know you and make a genuine connection. I always feel Dr. Cohen is ‘in my corner’, almost a member of my family. It doesn’t get any better than that.
