Dr. Lawrence Huff, MD

I went in for rotator cuff tear surgery, in January of 2024. The injury: full-thickness rotator cuff tear. Dr. Huff was my surgeon. After the procedure, my spouse and I were informed that no rotator cuff tear could be found during the surgical procedure only scar tissue, which was arthroscopically removed. We were also shown images of the findings. Months of physical therapy, constant pain, and finally another MRI months showed the full-thickness tear was still present and had increased in severity. According to Dr. Huff, he had never seen this before as a highly experienced orthopedic surgeon. UMC Orthopedic confirmed the tear was still present and had worsened compared to the pre-surgery MRI. The Mayo Clinic in Rochester also confirmed I still had a full-thickness tear and, at the time of the procedure, most likely a frozen shoulder as well. They were shocked anyone could miss it during surgery; doctors and surgeons from two separate facilities. Including top US hospitals.

Waits between arrival, check-in, X-ray, and consultation were brief. Dr. Huff is personable and a good listener. He explains everything well, from the position to the options. I would recommend him to anyone with shoulder issues.

Dr. Huff listened to me. He explained treatment options in great detail and asked questions to help determine my best option for treatment.

Received a call from staff within a couple of hours of my referral being received. All staff from check in to triage were pleasant and helpful. Dr Huff reviewed my file and proved my options. He answered all my questions in easy to understand language. A very good first visit.

Dr. Huff took time to listen to me and talked to me about options to help me before going in to scope my left shoulder.He is very knowledgeable and treats his patients very well.I would recommend him to anyone who needed care with their shoulder pain.Most important thing about Dr. Huff is how he cared and listened to me through my visit.

I came in and never saw the doctor only the PA, a little disappointed since it was my first visit.

Dr Huff explained my condition also gave me options on which treatments would help for the shoulder pain. I would recommend to a friend . I recommended my husband to see him.

Fractured shoulder. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. Dr is great, was very upfront with me and I appreciated that. Even has a sense of humor. Good choice

No respect for patients’ time. Had 3:10 appt, when I arrived I was told I would not be seen u til about 4:20ish. While I was not thrilled about the tardiness and the fact I would not be able to take my daughter to her evening activities, I was willing to accept it. I told them I was going to run to the bank 3 min drive away, and was told if I did they would cancel my appt. I asked if they were sure they wanted to do that, to which Dr. Huff himself apparently stated, “if he leaves he will not be seen.” In my experience if a doctor cannot properly look after his schedule, his ability to properly look after the wellbeing of a patient is doubtful.

Dr. Huff performed my left shoulder replacement back in 2019. I recovered rather quickly, with a very desirable range of motion, and with hardly any pain. I could not get into Dr. Huff for my right shoulder recently and chose to go to someone else who had a very good reputation. Needless to say my shoulder did not heal nor do I have a decent range of motion. Without any reservation, Dr. Huff agreed to take my case on and do the best he can to get my range of motion as high as possible. He is truly one of the best surgeons I have ever been to, and I have had several surgeries. you will not go wrong with Dr. Huff

Dr Huff replaced my right shoulder in May of 2023. I was so pleased the the doctor and surgery that he replaced my left shoulder in January of 2024. Dr Huff is a caring surgeon who takes the time to speak with you like a fellow human being versus simply a patient. When asked a question he stops and focuses on you and on providing the answer. I highly recommend this skilled surgeon

Very large waiting room. I was thinking it's going to be a long wait. Nope . I did my paperwork on line. Then sat down and b4 I could pull out my cell phone they called me back. Gabby'Dr. Huffs assistant was very kind and professional. Dr. Huff came in greeted me very professional, kind and caring handsome young man. Looked at my xrays and had a conversation with me gave me my diagnosis. Assured me I was fine. Told me to go on and continue living my Best Life. If I had any concerns later just give him a call and come back. Best news all day.

I learned more information about my shoulder from Dr Huff than my previous doctor gave me in over a year’s time. He’s a very empathetic doctor.
