Our daughter saw Dr. Laxmi Parsa on 8-30-23 with complaints of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, mucus, & blood in her stool. During the exam, Dr Parsa said he would test her for upper & lower GI distress with a colonoscopy and a few other tests, and his office would call to set them up. When his office called to set it up, they only scheduled a Hpylori test. I made a call to his office after asking why they hadn’t set up a colonoscopy to address diarrhea, blood, and mucus, to which I was told other tests must be completed first. Our high school senior then ended up in ICU on Sept 28th, 2023, septic from GI distress. She spent 6 days in ICU & 3 on the floor. We almost lost our highschool senior because she wasn’t treated. Upon returning to Dr Parsa’s office after her hospital stay, we asked him why he didn’t treat her. Despite diarrhea, blood, & mucus being charted on assessment, & my calls, he insisted we had only told him of nausea and vomiting. It was clearly charted. Had zero remorse.

The biggest thing that stood out was that while I was on the surgical table to get operation, he asked behind me about my insurance and if I was covered. I have PPO so this was very disturbing. And few of the nurses were also wondering if he is equipped for surgery because he wasn't feeling well. So overall not a very good experience.
