One of the Best in USA
Dr. Akst is a consummate professional with a vast reservoir of knowledge and wisdom. After consulting with several doctors around the country on my voice problem, Dr. Akst talked me out of a second surgery to correct an issue left over from a previous surgery by another doctor. Dr. Akst was right - watchful waiting combined with speech therapy was exactly the right call for me. Another doctor might easily have advocated for a second surgery, which would have been unlikely to help. Thank you, Dr. Akst!

Dr. Lee Akst is an amazing doctor.
Dr. Lee Akst is truly amazing. He makes time for his patients, and executes a thorough examination. He provides a clear detailed explanation of procedures, prior to surgery. We travel more than 200 miles to visit Dr. Akst. He exerts every effort to extend superior care to his patients. The entire staff is great. The surgery coordinator, Lori Chapman is the best! Dr. Akst continues to make daily phone calls to check on my progress. We highly recommend Dr. Akst to anyone searching for an awesome Otolaryngologist. Dr. Akst is truly a blessing, and we're extremely grateful!

I have been under the care of Dr.Akst for about six years. He is an incredible physician and never has belittle my questions. He explains procedures very well and I trust his judgement. I live three hours away but my choices for treatment on the shore didn’t have the experience with my rare condition so I was thrilled to know that I had that option. The first time I called to schedule my appointment with him, his staff was so complimentary to him-they quoted “You will love him. His patients are his number one concern!”

I am very proud to endorse Dr. Akst to my family and friends. I recently had a surgical procedure completed and can only say what a wonderful experience it was. Dr. Akst was thorough and very helpful in providing all the information I needed about the process and what I could expect. He communicated with myself and my husband both before and after the procedure. His office staff went above and beyond to make sure I had all the tests and proper paperwork for the procedure.

I went from a great doctor (Dr. Fletcher) to a horrible doctor. The doctor was rude, had a horrible demeanor, and belittled by experience. He didnt ask me any questions about how I was feeling. When I attempted to get clarity I was told to practically shut up and listen to what he already rehearsed in his head prior to him getting to the room. I have never experienced such hostility from a physician. The staff as usual is above and beyond. However, the experience with the physician was poor.

I have never had a better experience with any other doctor. Dr. Akst is thorough, competent, knowledgeable, and personable. He interacts with the patient with genuine respect and concern for their best outcome. I have to make a 12 hour round trip and incur the cost of lodging just to see him. It is worth every bit of time and money to feel like I’m getting the best care from the most qualified specialist at the best facility to treat my vocal paralysis. I am blessed to have such care.
