Books appointments through the Mount Sinai app months out, and then cancels day of visit. Got two early morning phone calls, called back the number they left and got bounced to 3 different call centers for literally 20 minutes. Impossible to reach anybody in her office. Sounds like she’s aggressively rejected any new patients with post-Covid symptoms. Horrible experience all around.

INDIFFERENCE ! INDIFFERENCE! INDIFFERENCE....
Telehealth
My experience with this office STAFF was NOT ACCEPTABLE. I waited 2 months for a telemed appt. 2 days before, I was called and asked if this appt. was for Long Covid. I said NO. Than I was told that this fine Dr. IS NOT ALLOWED TO ACCEPT NEW JERSEY RESIDENTS for telemed'. I could come into NYC and do a phone consult from anywhere in NYC but my phone must PING NYC. WTH, if NYS doesn't allow a dr. to provide service to NJ residents' how is it OK to be in NYC but be a resident of NJ? ATT she only works 2.5 days a week thus the LONG WAIT! only I am in NYC every Tuesday. I asked the staff to accomodate me for the very next day as I've waited so long. NOPE. NO CAN DO. TOTALLY INDIFFERENT staff. Dr. Hinnant needs to know how the CUSTOMER SERVICE STAFF in her office is indifferently treating a potential patient. I understand Dr. Hinnant is a great dr.; I guess I will never know. Her staff...a reflection of her practice?! Maybe it's a good thing this occurred.

Delayed Cancer Diagnosis
I saw Dr. Hinnant Dec 2020 for an elusive health condition making me very sick. She was very attentive, thorough and seemed great at first. I got labs done but there was an issue with one that Labcorp didn't have. Rather than trying to help find a solution, she just said "I've never had this problem." After many suggestions of how to move forward (send me a kit, have me come to the office, use a different lab, discuss next steps outside of this one lab) she referred me to a specialist for that one test. This meant our follow-up was delayed indefinitely where I was waiting for new scripts and doctor referrals for doctors that had resigned. I never felt so disgarded by a doctor so I sought a new PCP who immediately gave me what I needed and moved the conversation forward without what was a completely irrelevant test. It turns out I had cancer, and my treatment could potentially have been much less invasive had I not been so delayed by Dr. Hinnant's focus on one test holding things up.

Dr. Hinnant listened carefully to all of my concerns and anxieties and addressed them all. She was kind and professional, including not discussing weight (which I had asked of her on the intake form). The visit was through tele-health but I have every confidence she can help me with my care management in-person or remotely. Definitely make sure you call first - they’re moving away from that system and therefore it’s not working for booking anymore.

Prior to leaving Virginia, Dr Lee administered my annual checkups for the VA. She was very professional and actually listened to my needs. She was very ”human” and doesn't make me feel like just a patient. If I could have taken her with me, I would gladly have.
