Removed bone in thumb without telling me
Was having carpal tunnel surgery on my right (dominant hand) and told it would be an 2-3 month recovery. I asked about what could be done about arthritis starting in my thumb as well. All she said to my wife & I was she could take care of that too. I had been told by another Dr previously that he could simply clean the joint out a bit since it wasn’t as bad as my left hand,. Since she didn’t say much about it I figured that was also what Dr Farr would do too. When I came out of surgery she told us that she took a bone out of my thumb and attached a cable to hold it in place! Never said anything about that before! After 3 months she said recovery could be 6 months, after 6 months she said it could be a year or two! I just had our last meeting and she asked if I had ever be checked for carpal tunnel syndrome! I said, isn’t that the surgery that you did? OMG! She didn’t even look at what she was talking to me about! Occupational therapist says my hand will never regain range of motion.

Dr. Farr was wonderful. She was clear and direct about my condition, treatment options, and likely results. She also gave an excellent (and easily understood) explanation for how my current condition developed over time and, if left untreated, how it likely would progress. She was very helpful.

As someone who works in healthcare I am very particular about who I see not only for myself but who I refer others to. I saw her as a patient after doing some research and had a great experience! She answered all my questions, didn’t have her face in a computer the whole time. She seemed to recommend surgery only as a last resort if other modalities didn’t work which isn’t always the case with orthos! Highly recommend!

Didn't bother to read much of my chart, looked me over and rushed out of the room. I'm still confused with the diagnosis which goes against every other doctor I have seen (6) to be exact. Needed to see a doctor and she was a fill in for my normal doctor who is out sick. Next time I will just wait instead of being rushed and confused. Agreed, cold and no empathy whatsoever.

Dr. Farr has done 2 hands carpel tunnel surgeries. Now tennis elbow surgery. I would not go to any other hand surgeon. She is Farr the best. I actually wait to get surgery till she excepted my Insurance, as she has gone out on her own. Lovely person, very caring, great bed side manners. Very informative. Explains every option. Not pushy at all. I love this Dr. Farr I can not say enough about her and her staff. Highly Highly Recommended.

Dr Farr, is by "Farr", the most compassionate and personable specialist I have ever met! If you wanted dignity and respect, you'd get it from Dr Farr! She will take the time to explain everything in layman's terms so us common folk can understand. I am so lucky to have been a patient of hers when she was with another practice. When I found out she was no longer with the other practice, I held out seeing any other doctor just so I could be her "First" patient in her own office! I am so lucky

This Surgeon is the best I have ever had. Been to others here in the Louisville area and not the best of luck with the others. Dr. Farr is down to earth and makes you very comfortable all the decisions you need to make for surgery to therapy. The Most Highest Recommended.
