Foraminotomy & laminectomy surgery success! I'm 60 years old with NO history of back issues. In May 2019 I started with pain and numbness shooting down my lift leg. Primary care physician said it was sciatica. I spent weeks with physical therapy (PT) with no significant change. Took x-rays to Dr. Leslie Shokes. One of his first comments: If PT isn't working you can stop going, just continue with the exercises. I was improving over about three months. Decided to do some heavier gardening and pain came back. MRI showed spinal stenosis - narrowing of the spinal canal. Dr. Shokes performed orthopedic surgery in December to correct the problem, with no post-operation complications. I'm still under Dr. Shokes' care but I feel great! I would recommend Dr. Shokes for anyone with issues such as mine.

Dr Shokes has always spend time with me every time I am in his office. He takes his time to explained things to you. He cares for his patients. I had three surgeries with him. His staff at the hospital are the best. Very caring and helpful. He has the best staff ever. I been going with him for over 12 years.

the one star comment is not true every time i see dr shokes he spend more time than any other dr iv seen , i did my hand surgery with no complications ,bottom line he is the best

Does not make time for patients. Does not explain procedures. Office staff does not return phone calls until you have left at least five messages.

I have been one of Dr. Shokes patients since 2010 when he discovered I have a bone disease called Avascular Necrosis. He did my 1st surgery & EVERYTHING went Beautifully. Unfortunately I stll needed a hip replacement at the end of it. I'm going to be needing back surgery & neck surgery sometime along the way & he said he will be the one doing them both :o) I am so relieved to hear this. He is a Wonderful & Brilliant Doctor. His bedside manner is Impeccable. He is kind, loving, gentle & funny.

Dr. Shokes has always been professional, easy to talk to and always had time for my questions. He performed three different surgeries on me and I have the utmost confidence in his ability. he's also a nice guy, and likes to play golf.
