Rude to patients, even long-time patients
I had seen Dr. Horrigan for over 15 years. I had been trying to get an appointment for months and was told no every time. I finally got an appointment, and arrived 5 minutes late as I got the times mixed up (was still only 5 minutes late) and the receptionist checked me in, only to call me up 10 minutes later and informed me that Dr. Horrigan told me to leave for being late. I have never heard of such drastic measures being taken over a 5 minute mix up, especially for a long time patient like myself who has only ever been on time. And to be treated so cold as if I was being an unruly patient when I sincerely apologized for the 5 minute discrepancy. This was the last straw. I will be seeing a different practice moving forward.

Disappointed patient – May 31, 2024

Caring and thorough
Dr. Horrigan saved my life by sending me for CT scans of my lungs (because I was a smoker). The most recent scan (2021) revealed a golf ball sized tumor on my liver that turned out to be cancerous. The type of cancer I had, Cholangiocarcinoma, is very rare and very aggressive. After surgery and chemotherapy I am a survivor and have her to thank for it. If this cancer had not been caught at an early stage (1) it would have gone undetected until stage 3-4, when symptoms would have begun. The survival rates for this cancer in later stages drop drastically. Dr. Horrigan is a caring and thorough professional. I now tell all my friends who smoke that they should be going for CT scans as well. Apparently this isn't a test that most doctors order routinely, but they should.

A Doctor who takes time with you
Dr. Horrigan is knowledgeable, thorough, friendly and genuinely cares about you as a patient. While scheduling can be difficult and support staff isn't always friendly, once you get in the exam room you are in competent hands.

Excellent physician. Very knowledgable. Quick to diagnose. Shows a great deal of concern for her patients. One of the best physicians I have been to. Very interested and concerned with her patients' health management. Extremely thorough with testing to confirm her diagnoses. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a physician..

My experience was terrible. I had an annual physical appointment. I was told upon entry that there are strict rules - a patient cannot be more than 15 minutes late. I called in advance and it meant nothing. I do not recommend this practice. I have never found a doctor’s office that was so rude to its paying patients. Ironically it was OK for patients to wait for a considerable amount of time to be seen.

Spends time with you, all business but pleasant. Very knowledgeable. Listens well makes informed and well thought out decisions. Honest and straight forward. If you're over weight or smoking she's on it. She doesn't pull punches. She never gives you the bums rush. And she's smarter than us in her field by quantum leaps.

I’ve been a patient for a little over 3 years and she has always been prompt and courteous. She never “fat shamed” me and I’m certainly overweight according to the standards. She listened to my concerns and has given me educated advice. When I was sick she was very sympathetic and treated me quickly. She’s been there to be my doctor not my best friend or psychologist. Definitely a real person not a phony

Dr. Horrigan is a very intelligent, and professional . I have been going to her for 5 years now and have also changed my husbands doctor to Dr. Horrigan. We have gone to her for a follow up from a hospital stay and she brought up my husbands CT scan and showed us and explained to us everything the CT scan showed, which was more detailed information than we got from the hospital. We always make sure that all medical records get copied to her regardless of who we see.

Let me start off by saying, thankfully I have a new doctor. Dr Horrigan is the worst doctor I have had in my life. She pushes certain medication on you, even when you ask for other types. I had asked for 3 month birth control, but she insisted I take 1 month so I experience regular periods. My new doctor gave me the 3 month without hesitation. Plus her office tried getting me to go back to RI when I'm home with my family for an annual. That was my final straw. She doesn't help you at all.
