Dr. Lijia Zhu, MD

Both of my girls go to Dr Zhu. Seeing a gynecologist for the 1st time can be a very scary experience. She absolutely puts my girls at ease, spends time talking with them, works hard to find answers to any concerns they may have (discovered a clotting disorder in my 15 year old). She is the type of doctor you hope to find and scour the internet reading reviews; she is kind, gentle, patient. I am so grateful we found her.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Zhu for over a year; she treated me with so much respect and honor. Whatever procedures she performed, she made sure to walk me through every step and explain what would happen, what to expect, and ask about my concerns. She demonstrated so much knowledge and grace, she truly is a Dr. you want to be treated by. I was recommended by my obgyn to see this doctor and she has 5 star reviews which is why I made an appointment with her. I wish I would have never done that. She made me feel so uncomfortable. My first time finding out I was pregnant she asked me 3 times if I was sure I wanted my child, she couldn’t confirm how many weeks I was but Henry ford could, she prescribed me medication that I still have side effects from plus it’s a detrimental prescription that causes cleft lips in unborn babies, I was going to work with hyperemesis gravidarum losing weight throwing up every single thing and her office ignored my phone calls until I went somewhere else. Imagine this being you I had a horrible experience with her.

Dr. Zhu is an excellent doctor, and for me she is the best OBGYN. This September I got a miscarriage. It’s really hard for me and my husband to go through this. Fortunately, we have Dr. Zhu, and she is like family. She listens, cares, explains everything, makes suggestions. Really makes me feel comfortable. Now I’m healing well and trying to have a baby again. I would recommend her to anyone.

She was able to find and treat my issues when other doctors were not hearing me. I will never go to anyone else so she better never retire for my sake!

We had a very good experience with Dr.Zhu right from the beginning. In the 1st trimester when my wife asked for medicines that would control nausea , sheasked us to stay away from medicines as much as possible to avoid side effects .When we asked her why does she not prescribe something like Zofran(prescribed previous pregnancy), she told us that there a reports to suggest that Zofran can cause heart defects in babies and our 1st born did have a heart defect. A few days before my wife was full term my wife had itching in her hands and feet . We went to Beaumont Dearborn to get her checked out. Her health was fine and so were the babies but when the hospital contacted Dr.Zhu , she prescribed a blood test to check my wife's liver enzyme levels, thank god she did. The results were out the next morning, Dr.Zhu called us at 6:45 am to ask us to get admitted to deliver same day. Babies and mother are healthy . Recommend Dr.Zhu to anybody looking for an ObGyn in greater Detroit area.

Our baby was delivered at Beaumont Wayne by Dr.Zhu, this is not an easy task since my baby has umbilical cord around neck, shoulder and body. Dr. Zhu managed to virginals deliver the baby within 45 min, prevent baby from asphyxia and mother from Caesarean section is tremendous for our family. However, keep in mind Doctors might be busy on call every night, so prepare your questions and sent text messages. Doctor prioritizes the tasks based on the urgency and severity of mom's physical condition, so be proactive is very important

I was taken to Beaumont for an emergency surgery due to an ectopic pregnancy. Dr. Zhu was called into the room and refused to examine me until I was sedated because I was crying too loudly. That surgery happened a week ago and she never once told me how/if/when to clean my incisions or if she actually took my Fallopian tube or not. She was not comforting or supportive in the slightest and made my entire experience uncomfortable. Never let your loved one go to a Beaumont Hospital and if you find Dr. Zhu is your surgeon, demand a new one.

Dr. Zhu is very professional and nice. I had a very hard time when I delivered my baby boy, she helped me and kept both of me and my boy safe and healthy.

Dr. Zhu delivered my first baby and she is amazing. She is very knowledgeable and with a lot of experience. An absolutely 5 stars Doctor.

Dr. Zhu is an excellent OBGYN Doctor. She is knowledgable, professional and most of all caring. She listens carefully to any issues or concerns you may have and gives you the correct treatments with thorough advice on how to maintain good bodily health after treatment. I recently just had a baby and it is all thanks to Dr. Zhu. Before Dr. Zhu, I had a miscarriage at 16 weeks due to a previous OB Doctor(from a different place)who did not recognize or detect the infection inside my body.

Dr.Zhu was amazing . She was very comforting throughout my whole pregnancy . I was very nervous with being pregnant for the first time, I researched so much , but dr.zhu assured me I could trust her , and I was in great hands . She took all of my fear away.. When the time came for me to deliver my DD Dr.Zhu mad the process quick , and easy . I adore her for her comfort , and love she spread . I am thankful to have had the experience of giving birth to my wonderful daughter with Dr.zhu.
