Horrible person and surgeon
She didn’t accept responsibility for major error during surgery and gaslights me still 2 years later. She doesn’t listen and has not time and talks over you. She is the worst ever and I’ve had 10 surgeries. Litterally can not believe she has a license. Please stay away for your own good. I have no reason to lie. Just don’t want her to hurt more people.

Neuritus Surgery
I had surgery for left arm neuritis from Dr. Jacques in Sept. 2023 after going through 4 orthopedic doctors in 4 years. I finally got to Dr. Jacques and she got me into surgery within 2 months of my 1st appointment. Since surgery I have gain mobility in my left arm and now start PT to hopefully gain most of my range of motion. Obviously very satisfied with the Dr. Jacques surgery and highly recommend her!!

Unsatisfactory experience
I saw peripheral neurosurgery specialist Dr. Jacques one time in person and also in a few video visits over the course of 7 months for severe nerve pain in my left hip, leg and foot, not the back. She deflected treating the compressed sciatic nerve in the hip, as discovered weeks earlier by a fine UCSF radiologist using MR neurography, by sending me for further back and hip orthopedic surgeon exams, CTs and nerve ultrasound as well as to ineffective pain management often with long delays because of her poor, untimely review of completed results and terrible doctor-patient communication skill. In the end she refused to do surgery to decompress the nerve within the hip citing complexity of the surgery and possible further nerve damage perhaps even leading to amputation. I later saw a peripheral neurosurgeon at Stanford who expressed no such worries who easily completed the outpatient surgery with successful results (> 10x+ pain reduction and increased leg strength) leaving the same day.

Dr. Jacques performed a spinal cord stimulator surgery for my migraines in 2017 and it was immediately a failure! She didn't secure the leads properly and then while I was in the OR recovery area she had the audacity to blame me for her mistake. She claimed the surgery was a failure because I somehow moved after surgery and "shifted" the leads while I was in recovery. Just prior to the surgery when the team was prepping me for the OR she came into my room and she introduced herself as if I had never met her. This was a HUGE red flag and I should've have checked myself out then but I didn't and I paid the price! This was my first surgery with Dr. Jacques but my second spinal cord stimulator surgery and I should've went with my gut and ran when I had the chance because now I have a stimulator implanted that has never worked. Trust your intuition and only accept the best, and Dr. Jacques is not it!

I had a tumor in my Thigh wrapped around my siatic nerve. It was difficult finding a surgeon willing to remove it. Finally I was referred to UCSF and Dr Jacques agreed to meet with me. The staff from Julie and nurse practitioner Stacy were wonderful. I met with Dr Jacques and felt she had the expertise and she answered all of my questions and concerns. She was the first to meet me in pre op and post op. She discussed the whole procedure. Tumor is removed and no nerve damage. Total success

Dr. Jacques has been the only doctor that has a true understanding of my very rare condition and able to explain it to me in detail. I have been to Stanford and other top hospitals but none have been able to inform us at the level of Dr. Jaques. We are so fortunate to have her expertise and extensive knowledge here at UCSF. Her intensive surgical training makes her top in her field, the real deal. I enjoyed learning from her at my last visit due to her sharp intellect and upbeat personality.

She was very rude to me and did not have any plan for my treatment. When asked to explain my condition, she told me that she had already explained it the last visit. (Which she really did not). At one point she told me to quit interrupting her when I was trying to explain that I was still in pain. She also was not educated on neuropathy even though she is a neurologist. I have never been treated so rudely anywhere. I will definitely not return
