Treatment of Diabetes
I have diabetes, which is not being controlled with my diet and current medication. I've tried to discuss this with the doctor. He smiles and says he's going to take care of my problem, but then he doesn’t do anything. My current medication isn't working for me. A1C is high and blood glucose is also high. He didn’t remember that I’ve never been on insulin. I’ve also had problems getting responses from Dr. Duarte on prescription refills. He is very polite when I have an appointment, but I don’t get satisfactory results.

I am very happy with Dr Duarte as my PCP and I am happy to see his MA''s when he isn't available. They are knowledgeable, kind, and caring. I have a few chronic conditions that require medications and laboratory services yearly and I always receive my prescription refills and quick responses to my test results.

Dr. Duarte has been a good doctor since I moved to his practice. He helped me navigate the hurdles to get pharmacy prior authorizations, sometimes you have to nudge them for a follow-up but generally they are very good.

Dr Duarte is the worst Dr I've ever come across.
Sent me to an audiologist that didn't know what he was doing. Cannot take the time to fulfill a prescription that I terribly need...too near to closing time!! Of course, Wed is another day off for him so there goes another 24 hours of not fulfulling my medication. Oh, and the nurse practitioners are also too busy to sign off on my needed meds. What has happened to our medical world?!?

Had a visit with Dr. Lionel Duarte today. It was posted "all patients must wear a mask". Every person/nurse I came into contact with wore a mask except Dr. Duarte?? When he came into the room I was shocked!! Not sure what to think of it? You would think out of respect for the patients(required to wear a mask), that he would also wear one! I think he is a good doctor but not happy with the fact he had no mask on!

Dr. Duarte has been my doctor for over twenty years, but I am considering finding an office where the people answer the phones more quickly. I need to have a follow-up appointment in the next three weeks, but for over a month, I have not been able to schedule an appointment. When I do get through, the staff is courteous and careful, and when I do get an appointment, the staff is great. He used to be so good at explaining, and now he seems to be disconnected. I am frustrated.

I was just trying to make an appointment but I was treated like a criminal! Yes I'm taking painkillers, no I'm not an addict. The person taking my call was very arrogant and dismissing. She told me that the doctor would not see anybody on pain meds and hung up on me. Sorry I'm not perfect.

This doctor, has absolutely no idea what it means to follow through. We still, have yet to get results from a study done in 2014. Don't go to the man. He's all excuses.

No soft skills. He talks to his computer screen, even after asking questions he only looks over his shoulder to repeat what he just said. Not very personable and couldn't wait to leave the room multiple times. Don't recommend him to anyone...unless you don't want a relationship with your doctor.

Spends his time looking at his computer when asking questions. Did not explain why blood tests were being ordered nor the results, iron, B-12, D anemia all had low readings. Actually said he had other patients to see and ended the visit. Said to come back in 3-months for blood tests, I made an appointment for that draw and follow-up with Dr. Showed up for blood draw and there was no record of what he wanted drawn and he was out for the day. He didn't have the time to investigate my illness.
