Dr. Lipika McCauley, MD

First of all, I want to be clear that I Love Dr. McCauley! She is great and has helped me a lot through the years. Unfortunately it is difficult to get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time. Also the staff in not helpful in the least! It is impossible to get a call back. They really don't care if you have issues or are in pain. Possibly the worst staff of any doctor's office I've ever been to. I've continued here for years because Dr. McCauley is so great, but I can't get in to see here when I have an urgent problem so I will probably change doctors.

Difficult getting an appointment and then spent more time with her PA than her for help for stress incontinence. Very long wait times in office. Unorganized office and unfriendly staff. Did a battery of tests for nothing. No real treatment plan except for invasive surgery or physical therapy. Not happy.

Can not get anybody to answer my questions or call me back have been told 3 times they would back to me for over a week now they don’t answer the phone i have the wrong meds and the correct meds not a happy camper

The office was completely confused, setting me up with the wrong dr and then having me rush over to the other office to see Dr. McCauley. Dr. McCauley completely dismissed my pain and current issues. She wouldn't even look at my urine. She told me I did not have a urological issue and told me she could not help me. I told her I was in so much pain and went to ER immediately after the appt. The ER referred me to a kind, caring and seasoned urologist. He found quite a few urological issues. During my cystoscopy he found a retained medical foreign object in my spasming bladder. It is sad Dr. McCauley wouldn't even treat me. It's a shame how a female doctor would treat a mother in pain.

Have been a patient for a few years; called to get a prescription refilled after missing the auto-refill/experation date by a few days. It's now been two weeks, five phone calls from me and several requests from the pharmacy too. Pharmacy has faxed refill; I've called with follow up and even spoken with the office -- each time getting an affirmative on the refill. Still not done. I can't even get a return phone call on whether or not there's a problem.

Excellent Doctor with a great medical staff always doing their very best to accommodate patients, honored to be a patient here.

I am very grateful I found Dr. McCauley and that I am now under her care. I had pain and other symptoms come on following a robotic kidney surgery by a different doctor last year. When my pain and other issues came on, the previous doctor was not able/willing to provide quality care and eventually just went MIA on me without any real answers. With just one office visit, Dr. McCauley was able to come in and give me a full explanation on what was happening and established a plan to resolve the issues. She is very knowledgeable, caring, understanding, and seems more than eager to provide help and guidance. So far, I seem to be responding well to her treatment(s) and that is such a huge relief after all this time trying to work with my last urologist and getting little to no help. It's a nice change to have a doctor who actually cares and takes charge of my care.

Dr. McCauley is what you hope a doctor to be. She looks you in the eye, listens and answers questions. There is no feeling that you're being rushed. In the end, she gave me 3 options for my problem; expressed her opinion about which would be best but left the final decision to me...no pressure in the least.

She found a way to control my interstitial cystitis symptoms and gave me freedom to enjoy life without the constant pain and anxiety caused by this disease. It literally ruled my life for over 20 years, and now it is fully controlled. I am very grateful!

After several years of recurring UTIs and stress incontinence after childbirth, I decided to find a female urologist that specializes in women’s health. The list of physicians was small for North Phoenix/Scottsdale. Dr. McCauley has great bed side manners - she’s a great listener, empathetic and asks the right questions. She was also very thorough, putting me through a series of tests to rule out larger health issues. The only downside was it took me awhile to get in for one of the tests. I had some concerns and questions between appointments and used the patient portal for communication vs calling. I found the staff were very responsive with questions through the portal. I’d highly recommend Dr McCauley to anyone seeking a urologist!

Dr M is excellent. So caring and extremely knowledgeable. She makes you feel special and like everything will be alright. I trust her explicitly with my urologic health.

I am searching for a new female urologist. So disappointed. The staff is dreadful and I really wish I was exaggerating. Unable to a pleasant conversation with the staff- they are not nice. I am sincerely worried about my health which is why I am trying to see an urologist but this office doesn't make you feel welcome nor does it make you feel as though they care to 1. have your business or 2. that they want you well.

Dr McCauley is the best! I highly recommended her. I have received 4 incorrect diagnosis’s before finding Dr McCauley. I would have received an MRI w/dye, a cystoscope & possible surgery. Since my 1st exam w/Dr McCauley my symptom has improved & she was open to my request to cancel my tests & exam me one more time. My condition is better & I’ll be back for a 6 mo followup. Thanks Dr McCauley for allowing me to participate in the management of my own healthcare.

Dr. McCauley has a very good personality; however, she isn’t very thorough and neither is the office. Before my office procedure, no one took my vitals. In fact, I have seen a copy of my records and progress notes. The vital signs are fabricated as are the rest of the physical exam.

Dr. McCauley is my life saver. I had gone to a Neurologist for a CT scan to seen if I had vein blockage in my legs. I did not, he did see a growth outside my bladder. I was referred to Dr. McCauley for an exam. She then recommended I go to see Dr.Choi at AZ Center for Cancer. The growth was Aggressive B-Cell Lymphoma. That was in Dec 2013. I was cancer free in June 2014. I had no symptoms Had the Neurologist not directed me to her I would not be writing this today. I highly recommend her!

This review is for the office in general. Very disorganized. Difficult to get a call returned. Absolutely no follow up after a painful procedure. The experience overall left much to be desired. Dr. McCauley was nice but I think the practice in general needs many improvements.

Don't waste your time going to this Doctor if you have an UTI. Been sick for 6 months. Kept giving me the same antibiotic over and over.Told the MA I needed something else. They called in the same medicine again. Couldn't get in to talk to her for 3 months.Finally got in and was told they don't cure UTI in adults anymore. When I ask why have you been giving me antibiotics then she explained to keep you comfortable.Went to new Dr. Put me on other antibiotics for 3 weeks and the infection is gone.

Dr McCauley has a heart of gold. She is doing surgery on me tomorrow, and so far she has been beyond reproach. The test she did on me was painless, and she takes her time explaining everything. I instantly felt a bond with her. It's unusual to find doctors that really care like she does.
