Dr. Lisa Butler, MD

I had just moved from NC where I knew which doctors to avoid and the ones to see. I had to choose a PCP in San Diego without any inside information. Finding Dr. Butler was like winning the lottery. I have a complex medical history and she reviewed every word and test result before my 1st appointment. She is a talented doctor who makes treatment decisions with her patients, not just for them. I’ve been with Dr Butler since 2020. The front office staff is friendly and helpful. The nurses and staff are efficient and friendly. Shout out to Dr. Butler’s nurse, Gloria, for always returning calls ASAP and forwarding messages clearly. Plus she has the heart of a saint and cares for her patients. Every year I choose my insurance based on being able to see Dr Butler.

I recently had to find a new PCP, after 20+ yrs w/the same doctor. I chose Dr. Lisa Butler & believe it was a good decision. Less than a month before insurance changed, there was an abnormal finding on 1 of my tests & needed followup. In Dec, I called Dr Butlers office for an appointment, they said scheduling for new patients in March, when I explained my situation & needed a referral, I was told to go to urgent care to get it (not appropriate; maybe this person was coverage & not regular office staff). I was able to expedite some followup b4 my insurance changed. The results still indicated I needed to address the situation. I called the office again & spoke w/the staff & they made an appt w/in < 2 wks. I had some difficulty getting to the office & the staff was extremely kind & understanding. Dr. Butler listened to all my concerns & generated necessary referrals which were processed very efficiently. Rapport easily established & Dr communicated well. Not rushed, even tho Dr was busy.

Dr. Butler is extremely knowledgeable and looked at my entire health record. She communicates in a freindly and professional manner and answers questions. There havebeen several dicision points regarding my care and each time she has explainded what the options were and her decisions have been right.

I have seen her twice. Dr Butler is very smart and understands how drugs affect the body and interact with each other. Very direct and I love that!

I have had Dr. Butler as my PCP for 20 years. She has always listened to me and my concerns. I can ask her how her family is doing, how her vacation was, etc.. It's very important to me to have a doctor that I can have a good rapport with while at the same time having a good patient/doctor relationship. She will be leaving her practice soon and I am so saddened to be losing her as my doctor. I highly recommend her to anyone. My entire family had her as their primary care physician at one time. We will all miss her.

Dr Butler is clinical and very knowledgeable. She spends quality time and answers all questions.

I went to see this Provider and upon entry had normal blood pressure reading and at the end of the visit it was much higher due to the negative interaction I had with the doctor. I will definitely be filing a grievance. The Doctor was rude, uncaring, and not helpful at all. I waited over a month and a half to see this doctor for nothing. So sad that people go to this doctor for help and leave stressed out and with a feeling of hopelessness.

A very caring and competent doctor. Her office procedure initially required getting use to. She has a excellent office and medical staff and relies on them to do the initial screening of calls and requests. They always get back to you before the end of the day with the the doctors response, instructions, and filling of prescriptions. For serious issues Dr. Butler will speak to you. During a recent hospital stay we were very impressed with her attentiveness to our illness and treatment.

Regardless I felt satisfied with Dr. Butler's services, staff in her front office are second rate performance. Multiple occasions I must wait 5 to 10 minutes in the phone for them to take a message, plus, sometimes at the end, they hung up on me.,, very frustrating and stressful to feel that we are in their hands before to talk to the doctor.

Because the way I had been treated by my previous PCP and the specialists she had referred (or not bothered to write referrals) for decades, I thought all the doctors were the same until I saw Dr Butler. She is extremely busy yet she sat down and discussed and emphasized how serious my conditions were and would be if I did not take care or them. I am grateful for her concern and knowledge. She is a godsend.
