Dr. Lisa Coohill, MD

I used Dr. Coohill when I was initially diagnosed. I felt confident with her to help me get to a diagnosis. However, as my illness progressed, she did not know about available treatments for common MS issues such as spasticity. She does not recommend PT. She does not treat cognitive issues or recommend OT. When I told her my issues were getting worse, she told me I was depressed. She referred me to an MS specialist and I naively accepted her recommendation since I assumed she recommend the best. She sent me to Wendy Vargas at Columbia in NYC. She turned out to be an MS specialist for peds. She told me I had depression and MS was not worsening. I went down a rabbit hole. She did not refer me to Dr. Andrew Sylvester an MS specialist at st Barnabas. He ended up saving my life. He addressed each ms symptom that was worsening- one by one. I stopped depression treatment because it wasn't doing anything. Please, do not see her for MS. Protect yourself.a

My mom went to her, doing the review for her. All she did after the fist visit, was every two weeks send her for another test. Never giving the results, never have her come back in. I even called, but spoke to her assistant, how dissatisfied with the DR. Seems like she didn't even care about my mother! Wouldn't recommend anyone to her. My mother ended up in the hospital with a Brain bleed, and seizures, along with a infection. How could a Dr. be so uncaring? Never again!

Dr. Coohill reviewed my mir’s and totally mis diagnosed me at overlook in summit nj. After i had a stroke and actually prescribed the wrong medicine., Three days later (after discharge from overlook, and then staying at Kessler in west orange. I went to mt Sinai in nyc and Dr. Turham reviewed the same mir’s and immediately told me the previous diagnoses was I corrected, he corrected it and changed the prescriptions , it took 5 minutes with the right guy

SIX VISITS, 3 MEDICINES PRESCRIBED, DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT CARING.! SHE CAN'T CURE ALZHEIMER DISEASE AND DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO CARE FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS IT. SAVE YOUR MONEY. THERE ARE A LOT BETTER DOCTORS AVAILABLE.

I was referred to Dr Coohill after an episode of a cognitive lapse suspicious of TIA or seizure activity. She was very reassuring, compassionate and thorough. I'm also an RN so I work with MD's - and she was both professional in her approach and respectful to give me as much detail as I needed. My episode turned out negative but had something been found I would feel very confident under her care.
