Dr. Hughes is very caring and kind. She takes the time to explain, in laymen's terms and will sit with you until she has answered all questions. She explains treatment options and potential side effects. She encourages her patients to have a voice in their treatment approach.

Dr Hughes was not happy to work with the Mayo Clinic while treating my wife's cancer. She even stated we should go back to Mayo for the Chemo treatment. When it was clear chemo and radiation had failed she suggested palliative chemo with a 6-18 month life expectation. Right. She lived 3 weeks.

Dr. Hughes diagnosed my mother's cancer and when we sought a second opinion was furious about our decision to do so. After the second opinion we then came back and requested to get some clarification and a better picture at the severity of her cancer but Dr. Hughes was very defensive and upset with us and wouldn't stop defending herself and then proceeded to exit the room due to our differences and slam the door like a two year old. I do not recommend her she is very unprofessional.
