Lyme disease...
first contact ok very satisfied although long wait to get in and then for her... after extensive labs, 31 days of Doxy, second visit after labs she was more interested in past diseases the labs said I had had.. Some do not remember having... questioned My Lyme disease. She stated next would be IV antibiotics but didn't sound like she wanted to pursue this direction.... anyway more labs revealed i had gone from 3 to 2 bar Lyme. no further contact with this doctor... finally reached her nurse concerning treatment. I was told I had been treated with doxycycline and that was it.. I may experience further side effects but... may go away. If not ,let them know for more Doxy. I do not understand why a doctor would appear to not want to eradicate Lyme disease from my body...or is 2 bar Lyme not considered worth of further treatment? I may need to get another opinion from other infectious disease doctors....Take this review for what it is worth for your decision making .

Don't have any doctor refer her to you
Didn't even see this doctor because I was told to see her with an appt was 2 hour wait. Saw her assistant and honestly felt it was all a set up for money. No care provided and also doesn't take insurance after the fact

Horrible bedside manner!!!
Dr. Laya is very abrupt and rude. She talks down to her patients in a very mocking way! After a 17 day hospital stay where I saw her several times I would not recommend her to anyone. She wrote Antibiotics that she would NOT fill out a prior authorization for, and left me panicked over the weekend because she wouldn’t reply to messages. The last thing I wanted was to return to the hospital as that long a stay had wiped me out mentally and emotionally. If you can look past her bad attitude, she may be a good doctor; however I could not tolerate her.

Never met a more rude insulting doctor
Very insulting comments to a patient. I was diagnosed with neuropathy and was having trouble standing and walking. She made insulting comments to me and ofcourse my feelings were hurt. I rather not repeat them. Never would have expected that coming from a heath care worker dealing with the public. She deserves not one star.

Unprofessional
If you're looking for genuine interest and care with health and proper diagnosis and treatment. I would recommend another physician and specialist. I am so disappointed in her. I've wasted over 5 months of my time under her care, they cancelled 2 of my appointment's back to back for a period of 2 &1/2 months .now I'm back were we started. Looking for doctors that really care about their patients and their well being.. lastly, God forbid that you been suffering with progressive neurological CNS pain for almost a year now .... she'll treat you as if your some kind of " street junkie" very, very, unprofessional!! She should be ashamed of her conduct. Enough said.

This happened a few years ago. Since I turned 40, I GAINED weight. My primary told me about this horrid woman. I was a married gay man who went in to to see her about my weight GAIN. Once I told her I was married to a man she immediately wanted me to have an AIDS test. It was the most degrading experience I ever had. Never see this woman. Ever.

Unfortunately not very good, after waiting over 3 hours in a small overcrowded waiting room I finally met with her. She actually did not help very much, but I might go back for another visit since I cannot find a ID that my insurance covers in this area, without very negative feed back!!My understanding is that ID's are overbooked, worked and as a result the patients are suffering! Stuck

Everything she told me was true. The blood draw was exceptional, completely painless. After 7 other doctors, Dr. Laya helped me. She found 2 bands of active Lymes. The antibiotics helped me greatly after the second round, I did feel cured but my symptoms return over time. I believe Lymes is like parasites that have to be eliminated every 90 days or eventually, a person has to take the antibiotics again. Dr. Laya listened to me at length so there is a little wait time. I recommend her.

I waited over an hour to see the doctor in their lobby. That is unacceptable. Nothing else matters if this is your first impression of the business.

Dr. Laya claims she's not afraid to treat Lyme. She diagnose you, treat you with Doxcy and then drop you as if your a problem. She is not sympathetic And doesn't want to be bothered after what she feels is a cure for Lyme according to CDC. She needs To further educate herself on ILADS protocol for Lyme and co-infections and gain a better understanding for Lyme suffere's.
