Dr. Lorena Jaramillo, MD

My first time seeing Dr. Jaramillo, she assumed I was about as dumb as could be. I have type one diabetes and keep a very close eye on my hormones and blood sugars. She proceeded to tell me that progesterone doesn't affect blood sugars. Then Googled it, in the office with me, while not listening to me, and was like 'Oh progesterone does cause insulin resistance! But it only affects people with type 2 Diabetes, not type 1.' This is so blatantly wrong on so many levels. She was dismissive of my concerns, kept trying to put me on birth control despite my husband and I trying to conceive, and told me to have a follow-up ultrasound in 6 weeks and then put in the order for 10 weeks, which is very upsetting when you might have cancer. She was unresponsive in communications to attempt to fix the ultrasound until the day it should have happened, despite my frequent calling and messaging. 0 of 10, do not recommend. Find someone else.
