When I was a patient there she was very rude and condescending like she was put out because I was bothering her. It would almost take 2-3 days for her to get back to me and by then I was already being treated at urgent care because I was so sick.

This Dr is pitiful and lack empathy. Totally uncaring! Her medical assistants even worse. You call so called medical assistant and phones never answered and messages not returned. My husband a patient of McCarthy passed few months ago. He visited this McCarthy several times with leg problems and no attention paid to his complaints instead was sent to do some x-rays. I remember calling several times to find out about the x-ray to no avail, my messages no returned. I wish someone have warned us about this doctor!!!

The worst experience with Dr. McCarthy. She has zero social skills, zero compassion and no interest in helping patients. This was my well visit and didn't ask me ANY questions about MY health nor how I was feeling! She was more interested in the health of my parents and my previous surgeries than anything else. Regardless that I hadn't been seen in her office for over 6 years she did NOT do a pap exam and said it was not necessary. A breast exam was also not required either since she was ordering a mammogram. I told her that I've always had a breast and a pap exam during my well visits with my previous Dr. who moved away. She replied by saying that I did not need a pap test because I had one a year ago; which didn't even have records for because according to her the records my previous Dr. sent to her office were non existent. She didn't even check with her staff if my records were received before she confirmed with me she didn't have them. Complete waste of my time.

Not at all thrilled with the level of care over the last few months. Two prescription errors for routine meds - one for wrong type, another for one month instead of three - and a PA that never returns calls. We will be looking for a new provider after the first of the year.

Doesn't know how to communicate with patient. No response when my husband told her he had tightness in his chest. Total space cadet. Should work alone in a lab somewhere.

She is very hard to work with. She is constantly wanting return visits so she can log up more co-pays. Does not give me the level of care that the previous female partner provided,

I am not able to comment on Dr. McCarthy as I have only seen her once (after transferring my care from Dr. Paar). But, her PA is the worst I have ever come across. It took her 3 full days to respond to my pharmacy's request for refills. Plus, it took her 3 times to get the correct form/dosage for my routine medication properly submitted to the pharmacy. In the meantime, I had to go 4 full days without this ongoing medication. The office staff also needs a few pointers in professionalism.
