My son was seeing Dr.McKean for a fractured collar bone. We were seen next day after our ER visit! Dr.McKean was very personable and professional. Took the time to understand what happened and established treatment expectations with my son who is 10! He made a point to understand my son’s daily activities to help him understand the importance of the healing process! I highly recommend Dr. McKean to anyone who is looking for a pediatric orthopedic doc who specializes in sports medicine. Since our visit, my son now wants to be an orthopedic surgeon!

My father has been dealing with severe knee arthritis for 10 years or so. He had his right knee replaced in 2020 with a different doctor in Bowling Green and was not very happy with the result. He was thinking about getting his left knee replaced, but Dr. McKean recommended trying a different injection and now it’s the best it has felt in years. It is so much better that my dad booked in eight hour sled dog ride in northern Michigan next week, something that he would not have been able to tolerate before he saw Dr. McKean.We were able to get a next day appointment and he had his x-rays done in the same brand new building right before he saw the doctor. Dr. McKean reviewed the x-rays with us and even explained why he was still having some pain with his right knee. He used several metaphors to explain and avoided medical jargon so that my dad was able to fully understand.Overall the experience was 10-10 and my dad plans on returning to him if or when he decides to have it replaced.
