Dr. Lucia Huffman, MD

I recently changed primary care physicians from another Cape Coral doctor to Dr. Huffman due to my previous physicians lack of communication and availability. Dr. Huffman has been wonderful. She asks questions and takes time to really listen. I never feel rushed or unsupported. Equally impressive are the support staff. From reception to check-out the experience is so smooth with the friendliest and helpful of medical team professionals Ive found in Lee County. Even the prescription refill process is so painless. You simply have to call, leave the pertinent information, and they process it all in the background. Amazingly easy! I honestly couldn't be happier with Dr Huffman and her team.

Dr Huffman is very rude and inconsitreit. I DON NOT recommend her!!!! She does not care about her patients. She told me that my appointment was over even though I wasn't called back until 10-15 past my appointment time and she was only with me for 7 minutes. Very inexperienced even though she has 12 years experience. Run!!!!!

Each time I’ve visited this doctor I never ever seen her look at me. She is engrossed in the computer charting and talks fast. She checks your labs, says a few sentences and leaves. Never ever has she performed any type of physical exam. That is the standard all doctors should go by. Perhaps if she did a routine breast exam she could have felt a lump that could save someone’s life. Listen to their heart or lungs or presses on their abdomen. This office claims they never see reports or referrals sent to them days prior. I physically have to transport them to the office. Poorly run, poorly effective, subpar doctors.

Being a retired RN I would recommend Dr Lucia Huffman and her office staff at a 10 who are very attentive during our visits. We moved to the Cape from Chicago suburbs where I choose my Drs. from their residency to their Specialty but when we moved to the Cape and needing a Primary, GI, Neurologist and Cardiologist and Dermatologist. From the first visit in 2017 my husband and I have had excellent care with Dr Huffman and continue to feel she is the best of the best with caring and listening to her Patients. She has given us suggestions for other specialists which are also very awesome Drs. Office staff….especially Lisa….answers messages almost immediately with what was sent in the Healow app. The rest of the office staff is awesome but Lisa is the one I always deal with.and don’t remember the other names. We have referred our friends who have moved here to Dr Huffman who feel she is a 10 as well as her office staff Cant say enough about Dr Hiffman

I’ve been going to Dr. Huffman for about 2-3 years and never really needed anything being pretty healthy until this year. This year has given me many dangerous health issues and Dr. Huffman does not listen or care for patients. The appointments are always rushed, nothing explained until I ask, only to be met with a condescending remark & tone in reply, she speaks over my concerns and has pressured & rapid speech herself. She is inexperienced and I’ve not had issues until I needed actual medical attention other than a regular annual check up. She crumbles under pressure and is condescending when questioned on things a patient deserves to understand about their care, due to her own lack of explaining and care. 100% do not recommend. Find elsewhere.

Dr.Huffman saved my life. I was always pretty athletic, had great blood pressure , reasonable cholesterol readings and at a descent weight. But when I saw Dr Huffman for a recent exam my weight, blood pressure and cholesterol levels had all increased. Not alarmingly to most doctors , but Knew this wasn’t normal for me.So Dr Huffman encouraged me to have a CT Scan done. She explained that insurance didn’t cover the cost ($70) but she thought it would be a great help to see if I had any plaque build up in my heart. So I had it done. The results surprised everyone. I had a VERY high level of plaque and Dr Huffman called and video conferences with me immediately. She recommended a cardiologist that I used and long story short I now have 4 life saving stents ! If it wasn’t for the ct-scan and Dr Huffman I wouldn’t be writing this review today. Thank you so much Dr Huffman

I like Dr Huffman-she is easy to talk to. HOWEVER- some of the staff, mainly the MA who responds and answers my calls is very rude and condescending. It has now become a part of my routine to do my own documentation of my communications to the office. Again this review only reflects Dr. Huffman because of the short comings of some of her staff. That is unfortunate.

This practice just plain and simple does not care about its patients. I was put on a new medication and not told any of the side effects that could occur. When I experienced them and called with questions no one would return my calls. Eventually they subsided and the medication worked as it is supposed to. I was consistently getting refills with no questions until this past month. It’s a pandemic and I’m unemployed and uninsured and Dr Huffman is insisting on a telehealth visit to continue my prescription. They are charging $150 for these visit despite the nationwide option to not charge for telehealth. I called my pharmacist friend who told me Lee Health is doing free telehealth visits. I got an appt immediately and the doctor I spoke with gave me 90 days worth and was thoroughly disgusted with the behavior of this practice. Just don’t go here.

She listens and explains things.

Dr. Huffman is in over her head. She's very inexperienced and it is obvious. This was never a problem in the past for me because I didn't really have anything terribly serious. It was foolish for me to hang in as long as I did but I am loyal by nature. I had to subsidize her lack of experience and lack of education with an endocrinologist and a psychiatrist. I didn't really need her from much up until now. When the going gets rough, Dr. Huffman disappears.

She has been my doctor for the past year. glad that she does pap smears also. I find her easy to talk to about personal things and she was able to control my diabetes! Thank goodness!

Substandard care by medical, support staff is not professional and can be nasty. If you want endless tests with no diagnosis but a CNA who tells you they're busy is the place for you.

Everyone in this office is awesome. They are all pleasant and helpful. Dr. Huffman is awesome. After many different doctors, I feel that I have finally found the perfect fit!

The Dr is pleasant, but she did not take time to explain diagnoses or treatments and showed very little interest when I requested information on corrective measures. Despite lab results showing elevated lipids, no meds, or supplements were ever mentioned to lower them nor were any educational materials or low fat/low cholesterol diets offered. She seems to have 1 foot out the door the entire time. I was already at check out counter within 15 min of my scheduled appointment time!

I felt this doctor did not spend any time to diagnose, was hurried and not caring. I found the nurse to be inconsiderate and in a hurry.

Amazing Dr.! She is attentive and very engaging with the patient. She does one thing MOST don’t do<, she LISTENS! She does NOT rush you and being NEW patient and could NOT ask for a better experience. ?????? I wouldn’t hesitate< to recommend her to everyone I know who needs a Dr.

Great experience after moving to Florida and having to find a new doctor to take on my case. She was familiar with my conditions and have been helpful. Her nurse lisa is also very nice and I communicate with her online with ease. I ha ve complete confidence in Dr huffman! Thanks for taking care of me!

Asked all the needed questions and answered all my questions.

I had an allergic reaction to a plant (which I have had several times and know what I need to cure it). I told Dr. Huffman, but she didn't want to prescribe what I needed. It did not cure it - had to go to the dermatologist to get what I needed. I don't know if it is because she is following the textbook or young, but for someone who has a recurring issue and is asking for something specific, perhaps my past experience should be taken into consideration.

Would not recommend this doctor at all. Her nurse Lisa make the experience 10x worse (she does not do her job and complains when she has to do it and then does not do her job correctly such as sending prescriptions to the wrong place or not sending them at all, or not returning patients phone calls until she is done for the day.) Do not choose this doctor she does not listen and does not help you as a sick patient. She will get you in and out of the office and charge you for printing papers.
