Cruel, Insensitive, Dismissive
I don't ask a lot from physicians. I know that they have a lot of responsibilities to juggle, but I regret ever meeting this physician. Years later, I am still haunted by psychological distress from my encounters with her. She does not like it when her patients ask questions. She comes across as highly irritated at them. This is not a doctor from whom you want to get bad news. She left me weeping for hours with her delivery of medical news, which felt cruel and spiteful because she was inconvenienced due to an emergency. There's curt and to the point, and there is pathologically paternalistic, dismissive, and irritated at your existence as a patient - which is the experience that I had with her. There was no way that I felt comfortable remaining in her care. Patients don't care how much you know unless they know how much you care, and this woman made me feel downright unsafe to be a vulnerable patient. I'm so glad I left and found a different physician.

Great 1st Visit
1st visit with this friendly knowledgeable doctor. We covered my previous ER visit with other Healthcare professionals and she relieved me of lingering concerns that I had.She gave me a gentle exam and answered questions I hadn't even considered yet. She gets an A+ for thoroughness and concerned care. She's a good listener!

May have been because of COVID-19, but she seemed distracted and rushed during the appointment. Bedside manner wasn’t great. I may go to her again if I can’t find another GYN, but am in the process of finding another doc. (Wasn’t sure between giving 1 or 2 stars)

I saw Dr Martinez while my family lived in New Mexico during my first pregnancy. I wish I had found another doctor. She seemed blatantly rude at times, and often responded to questions in a way that made me feel like I was wasting her time. I thought that this must just be “me”... I now realize that her besides manner was poor and that she was incompetent.

I have an imperforate hymen and severe vaginismus. Prior to our appointment, Dr. Martinez was made aware of this and advised me to not take any sort of pain medication as I normally would. She stated that it would just be a consultation, and that she would not be performing an exam. About one minute into arriving to the appointment, she said that she wanted to do an exam. I explained that this wasn’t what we agreed on, and that I’d likely not be able to tolerate the excruciating pain. She responded with “if you’re in excruciating pain, will meds REALLY help that much?” Needless to say, the exam was unsuccessful. This doctor either has exceptionally poor communication skills, or she totally forgot about my situation even upon me reminding her at the appointment. This was a profound waste of time. Her attitude was dismissive and uncaring. I wouldn’t recommend this practitioner to anyone.

She’s an excellent doctor! Very intelligent, professional, and makes it a point to know her patients to deliver personalized care. We had two of our four babies with her as our doctor and never once did we feel we weren’t under excellent care. We’re sad to see another amazing doctor leaving New Mexico. She was truly an asset!

Dr. Martinez was the doctor on staff at Lovelace Women's Hospital on the night following a surgical procedure that I had with another doctor. I experienced complications, first presenting as a sudden and drastic drop in my blood pressure. Dr. Martinez immediately sprung into action, ordering a myriad of tests and quickly discovering that an artery had burst in my abdomen, resulting in a grapefruit sized hematoma. She then operated to stop the hemorraghing, saving my life. Truly excellent!

Amazing doctor! I always do a ton of research on my doctors and I'll tell you going to get isn't a mistake! Very friendly, takes her time with you to answer any questions. Makes you feel comfortable. She gives you info on what to expect and is a very upfront doctor. I wouldn't want to go to anyone else.
