Dr. Luis Barreras, MD

The office is totally disorganized. The doctor doesn't know what he's talking about, and he complains constantly. It's been pure torture.

We are fortunate to have such a knowledgeable and caring doctor as Dr. Barreras and his medical assistant, Elba. He has been a constant in our lives for many years and we can't say enough good things about them.

Dr. Barreras is exceptional. I have him to thank for my continued good health!

During the horrible Cancer diagnosis we found a Doctor and staff that helped ease the difficult times. Dr. Barreras' kindness and positive outlook made us feel like things were going to be OK and they were. Everyone in the office we loved and they became friends. I have been going to Dr. Barreras for over 20 years. I cannot recommend anyone more. He saved my life. He is and amazing, compassionate doctor. I am so fortunate to have him. I would highly recommend him to anyone and have.

My mother-in-law has been a patient of Dr. Barreras for the past five years. When you call the office, you always get a live person to speak with. No hold time and no need to leave a message. The office personnel are always very accommodating. Many of his staff have been with him for 20 plus years. Dr. Barreras is a very caring and knowledgeable physician. He actually sits and listens to his patients and performs a thorough medical exam. He treats the patient with respect and takes the time to explain the diagnosis and treatment options. I have recommended Dr. Barreras to many of my family and friends. They all have had similar experiences. As an RN, I have the opportunity to meet many physicians and Dr. Barreras gets a top rating from me.

Two hour wait to see the M.D. Goes over treatment and tests. Good care. Staff is great.

Dr. Barreras is one of the most kind giving doctors you will ever come in contact with! He saved my sister's life and sees me at any given time for any situation! They don't make doctor's like him!

if I had to choose to see Dr. Barreras or die of cancer... I’d die of cancer. Horrible doctor I’ve ever encountered. Stay away.

This physician had a fairly complete disregard for me as a cancer patient. He did not respect my time, hour-long waiting time, he was condescending, did not share records with other doctors I requested and saw me but twice briefly during my chemo treatments. I do not, would not, recommend this oncologist... even if he were to treat a pet.

Thinks he is god and staff portrays the same . Talks down to you and when asked a question like your questioning me. Waited 5 weeks for a decision on cancer as he had to speak to the guru about it. Went to Moffitt and had an answer in 5 min. My dermatologists had the same answer as Moffitt in 7 min. Will not go out of his way to help nor will his staff. He is all about the money and moving in and out as many as possible. Has no personal interest in you, won't work with you. His terms only.

Dr Barreras and Dr Gates saved my life ...I had uterine papillary serous carcenoma stage 3c and they saved my life...great -they listen and work with you to develop the best treatment even when I asked for a 3rd stronger medicine .. The best doctors ...I may not be here if it was not for them..and Dr Barreras make me laugh ...I trust them totally...

I feel there is a general disregard and disrespect of a patient and the patient's time for a doctor to arrive in the office long after the first appointment arrives. Chemo patients are weak, sick, vulnerable and at risk of infection. Sitting for hours waiting for a doctor's grand entrance is not good for sick people. If I could change doctor's now believe me I would.
