My husband had bypass surgery in February 2025. so glad he was Ed's surgeon. He explained everything and reassured us that surgery was going to make a difference in Ed's health. It did improve immediately. Thank you so much for the care you and your staff gave us.

A very skilled doctor
We accidently learned I had an Aortic aneurysm, and my Aortic valve was damaged and barely functioning, and just for kicks threw in a bypass. I was referred to Dr. Dibos and there is something about him that I had faith in him and his skills from the onset. Right before surgery I told him to wake me if he ran into an issue and I would walk him through it, but he managed on his own and did an outstanding job. If I had any family members who need heart surgery, I would highly recommend Dr. Dibos and his staff.

I got very lucky. I was in the right place at the right time when I was told I needed a Triple bypass open heart procedure. I was in Bayfront heart tower for a heart cath which I failed. My cardiologist wanted me to meet Dr. Dibos. He came in and told me what I needed and his manner was so confident that my response was "Lets do it". Best decision I could have made. Charlotte county has some of the best first class facilities anywhere and Dr. Dibos and his staff are world class.

Dr. Dibos is a very personable heart surgeon. If it wasn't for him I would probably be on my death bed. Thanks to him and his team within days I had a double bypass and within a week I was in rehab in Sarasota 7 days later I was home. After 4 weeks I'm driving myself to Dr. appointments and almost back to normal life. You don't have to go to Tampa or Sarasota to get quality heart care, we have it here in Port Charlotte.

Dr. Luis Dibos has been blessed with a very special talent of saving lives, my included. When I went into the hospital with a heart attack, he was the surgeon on call. Everyone told me how fortunate I was to have him as my surgeon , they were right. He is talented and compassionate with a good sense of humor. Between God and Dr. Dibos I feel very fortunate to be alive.

Dr. DiBos is a fantastic surgeon. He and his staff went above and beyond to make my aortic aneurysm a success. He and his staff are intelligent, friendly and truly care about their patients. I am a veteran and Dr. Dibos and his staffed worked flawlessly with the V.A. which is not an easy task. Excellent bedside manner and he treated me like I was an important part of the process. He is a wonderful doctor and surgeon and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Absolutely fantastic surgeon. One of the most down to earth people you could meet to boot. My wife and I felt instantly comfortable with him. We are both retired nurses, and I had a background in critical care and taking care of post-op open heart patients 35 yrs ago. How things change! We had checked reviews and I had watched several videos from when he practiced in Baltimore and more recently in Port Charlotte. Fantastic bedside manner, very skilled surgeon. Post op period was very smooth and I was out of the hospital on Friday after having surgery on Tuesday! He even picked up some trash on the floor in my room one day. When's the last time you saw a surgeon do that?! His NP and office staff are also the best. They all made me feel comfortable right from the start. Obviously, preparing for open heart surgery is a frightening and stressful time, but I always felt at ease with them, and felt well prepared by the time surgery rolled around. I could not recommend him any higher!

I would like to full heartedly thank Dr. Dibos, Dr. Carragher, and the entire staff at the Heart Care Center of Bayfront Health Port Charlotte as they saved my life. What I thought was minor chest pain and that I might possibly need stents turned out to be a Nuclear Stress Test, followed by a Cardiac Cath and then an immediate Quadruple bypass and Coronary Endarterectomy. Dr. Carragher found I had 99%, 99%, 99%, & 70% blockage in 4 of my coronary arteries. Dr. Dibos did the 5 ½ hour surgery on 3/23/2021 and it was a success. I want to thank the Doctors and the entire staff for their expertise, friendliness, and quick service. I am so thankful they were there to give me a second chance to live a healthy life. Dr. Dibos and his NP Laura have done a wonderful job training and guiding the Cardiac nursing staff to be part of a top-notch professional unit. I highly recommend the Heart Center at Bayfront Health and Charlotte Heart and Vascular Institute if you have any heart problems.

Dr. Luis Dibos and staff were extremely attentive & caring! They saved my life when I went into cardiac arrest & ensured my recovery in the hospital was successful. Hospital restrictions due to COVID prevented my wife from visiting; however, Dr. Dibos and staff were conscientious in communicating with her regarding my status. We would both highly recommend Dr. Dibos and his staff!

Before I met Dr. Dibos I had trouble walking 170 yards (The day I decided to go to the hospital). One week after leaving the hospital I was scheduled for a visit. Leaving a train station I was 1.4 miles from the hospital. I had a cup of coffee and I was running antibiotics. I looked at the cab station and I looked at Charles Street (Baltimore). I looked again. Then I started walking. I made one quick stop to remove my antibiotics. It was a nice day in March. If I felt any better I would have walked back to the train station. When you are in a hospital you see a parade of doctors coming in to see you. Dr. Dibos would come In and sit down to talk to me. I really liked that. When I came into Union Memorial I wouldn’t have given myself much chance, but I couldn’t have come through surgery ANY better. ??
