After 1 year with a well known Scttsdale eye surgeon with a 'stellar' reputation but having so many problems I really thought I had 'bad luck' UNTIL I CONSULTED with Dr. Lu. I got an appointment easily & after series of tests, exam & records review he gave his opinion (37 years of internat'l training & experience) & showed me the pictures that proved it. I had emergency surgery the next day! I can attest he is caring, humble, smart & humorous. Best of the best! Bless you and staff, Dr. Lu

I'm 61 and worn glasses since I was 10. My parents were diligent about us kids getting annual eye exams, as an adult I continued the practice that's a LOT of exams. Macular degeneration runs in my family and now I'm type 2 diabetic so I'm very judgmental of the person examining me. Dr. Lu gave me an outstanding eye exam & educated me to exactly what poorly treated diabetes and high blood pressure do to our eye's blood vessels. He is kind, thorough, funny and surpasses all doctors I've seen b4.

Dr. Lu was extremely thorough, caring and polite. I was seeing him to get a 2nd opinion on issues with double vision I was suddenly having. I had seen another Opthomologist who insisted I needed surgery. Dr. Lu spent 1 1/2 hours testing my eyes to determine issue and provided me with detailed explanation on my vision issues, laid out next steps and prevented me from having an unnecessary surgery.

I saw Dr. Lu for an irritation to my right eye. I had been to another opthalmologist who seemed to be in hurry and didn't seem to care. Dr. Lu really cares about his patients. I was told through the years I had a mole behind my eye. Dr. Lu has this x-ray machine that can look behind the eye. It wasn't a mole it was a shadow! I highly recommend him. He will solve your eye problem!

Saved my left eye! Extremely knowledgable and caring dr who truly listens, cares, and explains. Was experiencing visual problems, and my dr from another practice could find nothing wrong. I went to Dr. Lu for a second opinion. He thoughtfully listened, did a thorough exam of both eyes, and provided an explanation of what i was seeing He also found a tear in my left retina, did laser to stabilize it and sent me to a specialist to get further treatment. Highly recommend.

Dr. Luis W. Lu is not only a great doctor but excellent people person. He made me laugh the whole time while at the appointment. He gave me a tip to put a warm wet towel over my eyes in the morning to open my eye glands and better lubricate them. He could have done a $300 surgery on me but that tip was free and sufficient. What does that tell you about this doctor? He's here for the right reasons. I'm Rafael Testai and I'm thankful that I met with Dr. Luis W. Lu.

From the moment I walked in the door I felt welcomed. I believe Amy checked me in, and I know Dr. Lu's assistant's name is Rose...both were very helpful, professional and polite. Dr. Lu was very thorough and had a wonderful and caring dispoistion. I even met his wife Laura, who is an R.N. and she fits right in - very personable and professional. I scheduled my appointment due to seeing a flashing light as well as floaters so was quite apprehensive, but the staff and Dr. Lu put me at ease.

I visited Dr. Lu for the first time for my annual dilated eye exam as part of my type 1 diabetes management procedure, and was extremely pleased with the personable approach of Dr. Lu himself, his genuine concern and desire to understand my work/home environment and suggestions and tips on how I can maintain my vision for long-term. I was treated as a human being by the staff (not as just a patient ID# person), the wait was super short, and the overall office environment was excellent.

I had retina reattachment surgery in 2006 from sport injury and the vision was not well since then. later the cataracts developed and the vision got worse so I decided to have the cataract surgery. I eventually chose Dr. Lu after visiting his office. His staff members are professional. Dr. Lu is awesome! He treats me like a family. He explains me all the details about my conditions and what options available and what he thinks the best. My surgery was very successful and I am satisfied!

Dr. Lu explained my diagnosis to me in a way that was easy to understand, and gave me clear instructions on how to use my prescriptions and explained the logic behind his clinical decision. I was referred to him by my spouse, who also speaks highly of Dr. Lu and his knowledgeable and friendly staff.

My visit with Dr. Lu was incredible. Hands down the most modern office I have been in so far in the valley with such friendly, honest and knowledgeable staff. I can't praise the doctor enough. Unlike most physicians who seem eager to get to the next patient, he took the time to explain to me the symptoms and causes for my illness. I owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude not only for saving my eye sight, but for teaching me. Rare is this type of doctor. Phoenix is lucky to have him!

Dr Lu is a very Good Doctor with a lot of experience. BUT He has a very bad office administration! They used my mom's information to get her credit care card information and charge her without her authorization. Plus they overcharged her! If you go to his office BE VERY CAREFULLY WITH HIS STAFF

There are not enough stars or appreciation for Dr. Lu. He literally saved my husband's life. He took my husbands blood pressure which was in the 30's. Also with the symptom of a short blindness in one eye, immediately knew he had a mini stroke, a TIA, trans ischemic attack. He immediately called my husbands Cardiologist to inform her of what was happening. My husband had a pacemaker put in a few days later. Dr. is a genius and a hero .

I had an excellent experience. The doctor was meticulous in his exam and took great care explaining all aspects of the surgery, answering all my questions. The results of the surgery were remarkable, and really life changing. Even during my post surgery followup visit, Dr Lu again was attentive and caring. Im not at all surprised that i'd have an excellent outcome. The doctor and staff are patient focused, and clearly have set high standards of care.
