Dr. Luke Lucas, MD

I've been a counselor and developmental disability professional for 27 years and found no better psychiatrists in all this time. When I actively practiced, he was the only doctor to whom I would make referrals. What I like most about Dr. Lucas is that he listens to his patients and schedules enough time to do thorough consultations every time - not just the first appointment. Five stars from me.

He is terribly rude. I saw him inpatient years ago and he told me there was no way he would see me outpatient as I was too challenging. I didn't even ask him if he would be my doctor on an outpatient basis. He loves shoving pills w/o a grasp on experimental design. Instead of trying one new medication out at a time he had me start 7 all at once. You can't know what works and what doesn't or if they are poor combos with each other! I brought it up; he said if I wanted discharged to take the meds.

Dr. Lucas is very concerned about his patients and is flexible in his approaches to treatment. I owe him a great deal for helping me deal with stress and insomnia. He literally saved my life.
