Dr. Luther St James III, MD

One of the best doctors in Volusia/Flagler county. Extremely intelligent, kind, detailed and thorough.

Just met with Dr. St. James and feel I must leave this practice. During my previous visit and this current visit I was treated by staff with care and concern. It was opposite with the doctor. Dr. St James was abrasive, demeaning, accusatory and judgmental. He discounted or ignored my input on this and my previous visit, lack of consideration for me, the patient. I feel that he does not listen and or, does not care. He has berated me for my decision-making during both visits. I left the office visit today angry at his arrogance, his treatment decisions and recommendations and, I was not having a bad day until Dr. St. James ruthlessly attacked me personally. Perhaps he might have asked how and why I don't like the medical care that is available; long wait times (usually 2 hours in his office), rushed interpersonal relationships with doctors and staff (his nurse practitioner was thorough and nice). So far only direct Advent Health Hospital care by PTs, ORS staff has been quality care.

4 times I went the average wait was 2 hours even when NO ONE WAS IN THE WAITING ROOM. He put on my chart that I was a cigarette smoker. I asked the office manager to please correct that as I have never been a cigarette smoker. She refused! I asked the Doctor to please have someone correct it. He told me he didn't do it. I called Advent Health who put me in touch with the team that runs the website. They told me each person has their own Password so no need to share. They told me it was DR. St James himself who posted that post. They called him and asked him to correct it and he did however my next and last appointment after making me wait 2 hours and 54 minutes he came in got in face and said 'I don't want to hear about the website got it', So rude I walked out will never go back. HE needs to go learn how to behave like a human.

This man is extremely late, disorganized, and RUDE!!! Just save yourself the trouble.

Dr St James is a good doctor and a nice guy but unfortunately I can not recommend him. That is unless you want to spend hours (literally hours) in his office when you are only seen by a practitioner (nurse and doctor) for like 25 minutes. I am not exaggerating today my wife was in the office over 2 1/2 hours and I have had similar experiences (not that bad but probably close to two hours) so this is not a ‘one off’.

New patient appointment and Dr. was rude, 2 hours late, asked me some questions then sent me to go get blood work done somewhere else then looked at me like I was crazy when I was confused on why the appointment took 2 hours to answer a few questions. Would not recommend

Dr. St. James always listens to my concerns and renders excellent care! I actually look forward to my visits because he always puts a smile on my face, no matter what. The staff members also treat me so well!

Dr. St. James has been my primary care provider for a few years. He is without a doubt the best doctor I have ever had. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, and knows how to listen to patient concerns. At no time have I ever felt rushed or confused about our visits; he is very generous with his time.

Dr. Luther is a great doctor. He's very very knowledgeable and is always glad to explain in detail when I have questions. He's humble and he listens when I have any concern. I've been seen for over 5 years.

The most thorough and professional GP I have had in some time. I had been searching for a doctor for a few years, and extremely pleased with Dr L St James in all facets. He spends time with each patient and explains the diagnosis in detail. A throw back to how doctors were a few years ago. Exceptionally high rating.

Dr Luther St James is an outstanding MD. I am in the medical field and he has been my personal physician for the past 10 yrs and not once has he ever made me feel rushed or not listened too. He is what All MDs should aspire to emulate . He is knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate.

I would definitely recommend Dr Luther St. James III to anyone in need of a thorough and very astute doctor. Anyone looking for a great doctor here he is!!

takes the time to make each patient feel cared for. You may have to wait awhile but you get all the time with him you need when it is your turn.
