Spouse was referred to Dr. Schiffern for muscle biopsy. Pre-op visit saw her PA. Did see her a few mins. before surgery for general info and questions. Have not seen or spoken to her since. She did call 2 x's while I was driving him home p procedure. I was unable to pick up and called back, hoping to speak with her. She did not return call. Her post op notes stated she spoke with me , which was false. Post op visit, still did not see Dr. Schiffern. Spouse saw her PA. My spouse had some ongoing and unusual pain post op. Called office several times and still unable to speak to surgeon, RN gave some instructions. Saw post op x 2 d/t pain.PA stated all well and checked on 2 visit's. On last appt informed Dr. Scrhriffen would not be back in office for 2 wks. Demanded to see her. Appt. was set up w/ another surgeon. Again PA saw my spouse. We found out almost 3 months later a long stitch was left in and was removed by medical MD. Now with chronic stasis edema. To perform surgery on someone and never see them post op is unprofessional and unacceptable. I did file a report w/ Atrium Health, and to this day 10 months later no follow up.
