Best ophthalmologist I've ever worked with
I have a rare auto-immune disorder that affects my eyes. It's very difficult to find an ophthalmologist who's even heard of my condition, let alone knows how to treat it. Dr Moshirfar was my eye doctor when he worked as Head of Dept at the University of Utah Hospital. He knows his corneas, inside and out!He is very thorough and efficient in his examination and questions. Some people may interpret that as impatience or disinterest but that couldn't be further from the truth. Dr Moshirfar enabled me to keep my sight on several occasions with his quick thinking & specialist skill. I was devastated when he moved out of state to head up an ophthalmology dept at University of San Francisco Hospital... and I was so excited to discover he had moved back to Utah! His bedside manner is definitely not soft and cuddly, but would you rather have an eye doctor who's chatty and average, or an eye doctor who's efficient but brilliant?I know who I'd rather have caring for my sight - Dr Moshirfar.

Came Highly Recommended
A good friend of ours works at Hoopes Vision as a doctor told us how this guy is sought out worldwide, even in Asia. It seems apparent while visiting with him that he is brilliant and his work comes as second nature to him. We felt the visit we had that we were in the best, (most intelligent) hands. I can’t think of any drawbacks. If I had to name one thing, he is quick and some people may not follow him. I recorded the visit on my phone, but we did understand everything he told us. Other reviewers may not have been fair on their assumptions and may not be able to judge what quality of a medical doctor. I have been doing this for years for a disabled child I have. Hands down, I feel comfortable. And no, he isn’t tying to “sell” anything. He very carefully made the examination and had a few concerns and warnings that he defined to us well. I can review once the surgery on my child is done.

Not a good doctor
I found him to be very money hungry and pushing upgrades instead of what was better for me. I cant recommend him and am glad I went elsewhere for my surgery.

This doctor was more concerned with selling a surgery than treating me as a patient. Became quite annoyed very easily when we are dealign with someones most precious sense, vision. Seems he is an ok surgeon but I wouldn't trust him as he seems to do a lot of things for money which I highly question if he would do on a family member. Im glad I got a second opinion.

Fantastic, brilliant individual . I have heard from many sources that he is known nationally and internationally but he is so humble that you do not get that impression about him . He is a great LASIK surgeon . My neighbor told me that he is an amazing cornea transplant surgeon as well . In Utah, he is the only cornea Doctor that can fix others' mess. He has the best bedside manner Google him .
