This woman practices torture not medicine
It's absolutely heartbreaking to see all of these abusive experiences. I came here to see what Maleeha scored after being reminded of my horrific experience. I am not surprised but rather horrified. Dr. Maleeha Asahn absolutely DID hold me captive in her psych facility and made it very clear with every interaction that you had to play her game in order to leave. Her game includes forcing you to take an antipsychotic as part of her ritualistic treatment regime. She takes no more than 2 minutes to see you and if you are inpatient the weekends do not count towards your time spent in treatment - on paper I was there for 5 days but in real life I was there for 7. Not only did she force a complete and rapid taper from a high dose benzodiazepine during that time she also allowed nursing staff to confiscate a hygiene product I needed due to an unrelated medical issue that was made worse by the severe withdrawal. Dr. Maleeha Asahn even walks and talks like the villain she is.

Brother was admitted to the hospital after being aggressive due to mental illness (schizophrenia). She said he was doing well in the hospital but when he returned home after being medicated he was worse than when he was admitted. Continued fighting with family and we are unable to reach her at the doctors office. No follow ups and it has only gotten worse. Seek medical care elsewhere where the doctor actually cares about the patients success post release

Trying to describe what it's like with this doctor reminds me of what happens to many police officers after they've seen too many awful things. This doctor takes any situation and makes it into what she knows. What she knows is mental illness, so every patient she sees has mental issues no matter what they're seeing her for. Unfortunately my fiance got to learn this the hard way. I brought her in because of a bad reaction to a pill, and Ahsan quickly decided my fiance needed a full week of being held captive in her mental ward. She holds the power of keeping patients as long as she wants once she deems them unwell and it's horrifying. Please, if you read this and are thinking of bringing yourself or a loved one in for help, try another hospital first. There HAS to be better care out there.

TheMental Patient – Jul 15, 2020

I brought my fiance to Good Sam with a bad reaction to a pill she took. My fiance was confused and disoriented so Ahsan decided instead of treating her for that, to put her in the psych unit in the hospital, totally unable to give me the reason for it besides talking about her past(my fiance had some issues years back). She locked her up for 6 days as a mental patient rather than treating her for what we took her in for in the first place. I can't even imagine what it would take to go back to that hospital or be anywhere this doctor works again. The experience has been surreal and scary that this woman has total control if she deems you a psych patient. The hospital is 3 minutes from our home but we will never go back there again. I'd rather drive the extra time than risk something like this ever happening again.

My son was released from inpatient care and told to pick up meds. Dr. did not call pharmacy and check that all would be fine. Insurance wouldn't release meds for 3 days. Called Dr. Ahsan for help as my son was now without meds for 24 hours and not doing well. Her service gave me another doctor who said not our problem it is insurance problem. I said I need help and he said stop being sarcastic and hung up. No where to go for help and can't believe a doctor would not help and push it off on someone else. Should be 0 stars. All the work my son did is now gone.

Dr Ahsan is quick to medicate and over medicate. She does not listen to her patients and as a result is not creating an evidenced based plan of care as a detailed patient history is needed to establish care. Twice I had family members pumped up with drugs by her. If I could I would give zero stars. I find it frightening that families who are new to addiction may have her as their first resource.

Prescribed blacklisted meds to a patient in liver failure until she died at 32. Accepts zero responsibility and takes no accountability. Office staff extremely rude and cold, should they ever decide to take you off their standard 10-minute holds. They also refuse to pass messages to the doctor, regardless of the importance.

Condescending and cold. A pill pusher who doesn't check dangerous combinations and she has absolutely no empathy for mental illness and addiction complications - I am a mother of a mentally ill son and she represents everything I would hope my son wouldn't have to deal with while he tries his best to get help.

I've seen Dr. Ahsan for over 10 years. She treated me when I had a psychiatric break, was on medical leave from my job and I didn't understand what was happening to me. Further, I didn't believe it. It took well over two months on a few anti-psychotics before I began to think rationally. In fact towards the end I hazily remember discussing electro-shock therapy. Her treatment led me out of that break and the deep depression that followed. And then, return to a near normal life as bipolar on meds
