Dr. Manuel Ruiz Jr, MD

This post is way past due. I can't say enough good things about this man. I had colon cancer a couple years ago. I was in the hospital when they found it. A doctor asked me what I wanted to do, and I told him I wanted it removed as soon as possible. They said they would send a surgeon up to my hospital room to talk to me. In hind sight, thank God it was Dr. Ruiz. He introduced himself and preceeded to tell me what he would be doing, which included removing part of my colon and giving me a colostomy. I listened to all he had to say, then I asked him if he would listened to everything I had to say? He said, absolutely. I told him that I was born with no legs, which he could see. I also told him I wore prosthetic and was very active. I help my son run an excavating business, and run heavy equipment daily. I told him that one of my legs was off at the hip and the other at the knee, and that I actually sat in a bucket prosthetic. And if he gave me a colostomy, I wouldn't be able to w

Dr. Ruiz Jr did a very good job surgically. I had a very large gash in my arm. He called in his team and they came in and got me taken care of that night. Thanks to them and their care I was able to go home that evening. Dr. Ruiz is very good at what he does.

I had gallbladder surgery and he did an excellent job taking care of my health needs. He does a superb job of educating the patient on the procedures and adds polite humor to the conversation. His follow-up care is wonderful, too!

My husband just recently had hernia surgery we both were very impressed with Dr Ruiz he's a great surgeon with a great personality!!!!

From pre-op to follow up care Dr Ruiz showed a very vested interest in my treatment and recovery. Even when I had a few unforeseen issues related to my illness he took immediate action and didn’t waste time helping me get back to 100%. I’m thoroughly convinced without Dr Ruiz’s help I would have been in much worse shape, if not too far gone.
