Calming & kind, great listener
His presence. I never felt he was inpatient or annoyed by my questions. He answered my questions completely. My first surgery date was cancelled literally the morning of because I had viral infection. The next appointment, a month later, was nearly cancelled for another week because of bad weather. The doctor and his staff juggled their schedules and I had the surgery the next day, which saved us the expense of renting another space for my family to stay while I was hospitalized. UH is losing a great doctor & human being.

extremely knowledgeable and professional.
Dr. Pelletier performed successful robotic surgery on my mitral valve. Dr. Pelletier exhibited the highest levels of skill, professionalism and compassion throughout our initial meeting, surgery, post-op and followup. I could not have asked for a better surgeon and surgical team. I highly recommend Dr. Pelletier for and surgical procedure you may require.

Wonderful surgeon! Skilled and very nice.
He knew everything about my history and was ready for my appointment. He was willing to do surgery after another surgeon turned me away for being too high risk. The surgery was necessary. I have had an excellent outcome and am now in cardiac rehab. He and another surgeon came to check on me in the hospital on a Sunday evening! Very caring. Highly recommend him.

Caring, experienced and gifted surgeon
My first visit with Dr Pelletier was a virtual visit, to consult on an aneurysm repair and aortic valve replacement. Even virtually, I could sense his experience, patience, care and compassion. The next time I met him was in pre-op and it was like meeting an old friend. I consider myself blessed to have met Dr P, and have him as my surgeon. He's such a great guy that at my follow-up visit, I actually felt bad when he said that he didn't need to see me anymore! :)

Great compassionate and knowledgeable doctor
Dr. Pelletier is a highly recommended cardiac thoracic surgeon whom one would think does not have time to know or care to know anything about you. But, my first encounter was with a virtual visit. He went over my case, informed me of my condition and gave me options of what to do. He also asked about me. I told him how many kids I had and that my husband had just recently passed away. You could see and hear the compassion, which was very reassuring. My surgical day came. Dr. Pelletier saw me as the nurses were prepping me, informing me of everything that would take place before, during and after surgery. I was told that my Mitral valve would be repaired, but, if it was beyond repairing I had choices to make as to what kind of valve mine would be replaced with. After surgery, Dr. Pelletier visited me in recovery and stated that, it was work but, my Mitral valve was able to be repaired and not replaced. Praise God! God blessed me with an extraordinary and very caring doctor.

Makes You Feel Like You are his Only Patient
If you get referred to Dr. Pelletier for your heart surgery, consider yourself fortunate. He didn't rush into surgery, seeing if medications might work. When they did not, he gave me the pros and cons of choosing mitral valve repair surgery now or later in life, making me feel like it was my decision. He also decided I was a candidate for minimally invasive surgery which made recovery much quicker and left only a small scar on the side of my breast. At the preoperative appointments including one via phone so that I did not have to make the drive downtown, he explained everything thoroughly and took the time to answer every question. At every appointment he is confident, calm and kind. I was always impressed impressed Dr. Pelletier could talk about your situation including other doctor visits without looking at a screen or notes. Three weeks after surgery I was attending ball games, 5 weeks later vacationing and in 7 weeks I was back on the pickleball court.

Thankful to have been in such capable hands!
Dr. Pelletier was very easy to talk to and made every effort to explain the procedure and the recovery process. He definitely helped me and my wife feel more comfortable with what was going to happen. I am feeling very good and we are both very pleased with the results and the very minimal incisions. Thank you Dr. Pelletier and team for giving me a second lease on life!

Extremely patient oriented.
His explanation of the procedure in terms a non-medical person can understand. Taking time to get to know the patient and their ability to recover from the procedure both physically and mentally. His friendly, compassionate composure instills a calm confidence in his patients. Will definitely recommend him to others.

In April of 2024 Dr. Pelletier replaced 2 heart valves on me. I have had no complications and I continue to marvel at the success of this procedure. My first major surgery has been a simple and relatively painless experience. I entered into the process well informed by Dr. Pelletier, and my outcome has been excellent.

Dr. Pellitier's rating is 10 out of 5. Awesome!
Dr. Pellitier replaced and repaired my aortic and mitral valves and did a bypass of an artery that was weaving through my heart muscle. I had no complications with this surgery and I have no limitations now. Dr. Pellitier was thorough, kind, and confident each time we spoke. He monitored my hospital recovery time and was confident that the inflammation in my heart would die down and a pace maker would not be unnecessary. I really appreciated this because I didn't want a pace maker! He took the time to know about me as a person and conversations with him always demonstrated this. At my 6 week post-op appointment he discussed specifics of my heart and my surgery as well as reflecting back to questions and concerns from my first appointment with him 2 months prior. You will not feel like 'just another patient' if you choose Dr. Pelletier. He's the best and I'm thankful that I chose him for my surgery.

Great Surgeon and amazing Indvidual
Just an amazing Individual, never rushed, took his time, explained everything clearly and did an amazing job replacing my Mitral Valve. I was referred to Dr. Pelletier, by another fine Surgeon. Dr. Pelletier, took the time to review every test, that I had done, in order to give me several options. He explained evrything to us clearly, listened as we weighed our options, and then, did a great job, replacing my Mitral Valve, which wasn't easy, and improving the circulation by performing a two vessel CABG. I would reccommend him to anyone, without hesitation

My meeting with Dr. Pelletier
We originally met with Dr. Pelletier at the main campus of UH downtown Cleveland. Since he had previously reviewed my heart issues, he explained what course of action he would recommend for my procedure and set a date for the surgery. There seemed to be some concern regarding my age and the recommended procedure; however, after reviewing the apparent risks it was decided to proceed with the recommended surgery. In the surgery room, Dr. Pelletier was totally in charge and gave instructions to all staff involved in the procedures that would be forth coming for my procedure. In light of all of the protesting which was being shown on the news I felt a need to ask if he felt safe, to which he replied yes. It appears that 5 hours later I was in the ICU under the care of the nursing staff, who also were exceptional to me. My 6 month follow up meeting with Dr. Pelletier was professional and informative. All questions were answered and I have complete trust and confidence in his ability.
