For a place as reputable as the Cleveland Clinic, I would expect a Doctor who does more than simply "checks the boxes." There's no compassion or thinking outside the box. He only sees what's in front of him. My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer. During a visit shortly after her diagnosis, she had what we all thought was bronchitis. We all had it. It was winter and it was going around. She needed an antibiotic, but he insisted that it was the cancer. Just because someone has cancer doesn't mean they don't get sick! Again, he's supposed to be a Doctor. And just because you're an Oncologist doesn't mean everything is cancer! He's extremely dismissive, uninterested and condescending. Stay away!

No data, no treatment. No lack of data, does not known how to interpret! Just not qualified to make decision about human life. Untrustworthy, no empathy or follow up during urgency. No discussion possible, always has some excuse not to treat beyond using an ancient sledgehammer called chemo. Won't recommend.

Trustworthy - no, definitely no. Explans - no, incapable. Anwares - no, ignorant. Time well spent - no, full of stress. After a year's follow up, when it comes to rain, he can walk out! Not a single treatment decision was made.

I saw Dr. Shapiro for a second opinion a little over a year ago. He told me he would never recommend surgery for a stage 4 patient no matter how young or otherwise healthy the patient was. (I was 42 and still working). He actually said within 3 months cancer would be all over my body. My husband and I were devastated and he almost crushed any hope I had left. I was able to get surgery elsewhere and a year later I am NED. I have NSCLC which does not appear to be his specialty.

Very arrogant !! Does not listen or care about the patients needs .. He only wants to move you out to get somebody else in .. Does not advocate for his patients only himself in his arrogant tone, he stressed to my husband and I that he saved his life .. I sure hope you can, making 400,000 a year.. Filing with the medical board
