Dr. Margaret Papadea, MD

I left a large practice in Atlanta that was sterile and gave me no autonomy. Then I moved my delivery to Columbia and I’ve never felt more seen or heard by any healthcare provider in my life. She is thoughtful in her explanations and direct in her clinical opinions. I had a C section and her overwhelming sense of calm and confidence got both me and my husband through what could have been a traumatic experience. I trusted her with my life and the life of my baby girl, and she delivered - pun intended. You won’t find safer hands to put yourself in than with Dr. Papadea. She is truly amazing at what she does. She followed up with postnatal care, asked me about depression symptoms in a truly genuine way and gave me the best delivery experience anyone could hope for. She’s the best in the game

I recently experienced unexpected gynecological issues. After informing Dr. Papadea’s office, I was able to get an appointment quickly. After the exam, Dr. Papadea explained her findings with care and took the time to answer all my questions. My condition required surgery, which was scheduled in a timely manner. Before the surgery, Dr. Papadea explained the procedure in great detail and was available for questions during my appointments and through MyChart. The surgery and recovery went very well, and Dr. Papadea and her staff were available for questions any time I required assistance. I was very happy with the care I received and the professional manner in which my wife and I were treated! I have since recommended Dr. Papadea to friends and family.

Dr. Papadea didn't listen to me as a patient and would downplay my concerns stating they were “totally normal”. She made decisions without informing me or of any consequences, which ultimately led to the most horrible outcome. Her arrogance shows in her actions and also proves herself to be untrustworthy, careless, and not a prudent doctor. She lacks compassion, and I regret putting my life and my baby’s life under her “care”. If you are currently searching for a doctor, I would not recommend Dr. Papadea.

From the moment this doctor walked in it seemed to be her personal mission to discredit the diagnosis of my primary doctor as well as my symptoms. I was told before I was even examined that “these things are normal”, and recommended I begin birth control. After my ultrasound confirmed the suspected PCOS then she agreed with the original diagnosis, as if it had to be her idea to be valid. She offered no ideas for treatment, only stating I have to live with it and manage the symptoms. No suggestions on how to manage the symptoms other than the original throw birth control at it and hope it helps. She also implied that my primary doctor would not need or even want copies of the ultrasound because only she had been trained how to read them. Even I could look at the ultrasound and tell what was wrong. No treatment recommendations were written in my notes/chart for my primary doctor. I will never go to this doctor again!

I have been to hundreds of Doctors and Specialists in my life, and 99% of them made me feel unheard, judged, and overlooked upon leaving their office due to me being overweight. It has caused significant health anxiety as I have grown into an adult, and I was extremely nervous going into my apt with Dr. Papadea. I expected the worst to be quite honest. Just another Dr telling me to lose weight and not actually listen to me. I left her office and called my mom crying (happy tears) in the car. For once in SO long, I felt seen and heard by Dr. Papadea. She was truly one of the kindest and most non judgmental Doctors I have ever worked with. I wish I could talk to her for hours and just soak in the information she would give me! I feel very blessed to have met her.

I was very impressed. She stepped in when I was having issues with another doctor in the practice. She was so nice and caring. She took time to exam me and answer my questions.
